Symmes Valley High SchoolEden Crowe Author Event
Eden Crowe, also known as The Moth Ma’am, brings her distinctive take on romance to an author event that highlights stories where cozy monsters and big hearts share the spotlight. An Appalachian native, she writes about characters who stand strong in who they are and who they love, and she embraces the notion that a perfect romance may pair a good book with strong coffee and a cryptid or two. Her novel Mingling with Mothman follows Mayor Clay Carlile of Mistwood, WV, and Ava Pratt, the bright new social media intern whose father has long been Clay’s only political rival and an outspoken critic of the town’s monster residents. After a sensational letter seeks to expose Clay as a notorious cryptid, scrutiny intensifies just as election season approaches. Ava, nothing like the man who raised her and shaped by years abroad, aims to help him see reason, even as she begins to fall for her new boss. A work trip upends their plans when a sudden snowstorm leaves them stranded at a discreet motel with only one bed, a scenario ready-made for scandal. When Clay reveals more than his true form, they must face the forbidden nature of their connection and decide whether to remain hidden or confront the public and Ava’s father. The story asks whether love can cut through legends and lore, and whether seeing is believing. Known for a playfully eerie online presence and perpetually out-of-focus photos, Crowe invites readers to live, laugh, and lurk alongside her across the creepier corners of the web.
