Novel Tea Book Club - April
A welcoming book club brings readers together for warm conversation with tea and biscuits in a cozy setting. The current selection is Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, set in a society divided by the color of its people’s blood, where silver-blooded elites with extraordinary abilities rule over red-blooded commoners. Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old from the impoverished Stilts, is drawn into the Silver Palace and discovers a power of her own that challenges the established order. To contain the risk she represents, the Silvers present her as a lost princess and pair her with a prince, while she quietly supports the Red Guard. The story navigates secrecy, shifting allegiances, and dangerous choices. Copies are available at the Midland branch during open hours. For questions, contact Tiffany at tseibert@thebookplae.org.
