Free Blood Pressure Screening

Froedtert Holy Family Memorial volunteer staff will be providing free blood pressure screenings. People who attend will receive recommendations for out-of-range readings, as well as preventative education. Those participating can confidentially track their readings and discuss them with volunteer staff each month. Referrals include Froedtert Health, Aurora, and Lakeshore Community Health Center. The screenings will be at a table near the Main Service Desk on the first floor.

WOMT 100: A Century of Live Local Radio in Manitowoc at Manitowoc Public Library

Founded by Francis and Lillian Kadow, the station has evolved into a trusted source for news, sports, and community information. 5th Annual Kentucky Derby Party

The Wharf Manitowoc hosts its 5th annual Kentucky Derby Party with live music by 5 Card Studs, unlimited Mint Juleps, and viewing on screens both indoors and outdoors. Using a stomp box, harmonica, keys, guitar, live looping, and vocals, he crafts an original blend that moves through Delta blues, dark folk, vaudeville, psychedelic rock, grunge, and experimental textures that brush against industrial. The show leans into driving grooves and ghostly lyrics, paired with theatrical elements that include props and illusions to create a vivid strain of musical psychodrama.

An American Salute: New York, New York

The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble presents a New York City themed program at the Capitol Civic Centre led by conductor Jeremiah Eis. Kim Hofmann performs with the ensemble on Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York,” along with Broadway selections connected to the Big Apple. Manitowoc Farmers Market Opening Day

On the market's opening day, the riverfront fills with farm-fresh produce, ready-to-eat fare, artisan goods, homemade items, coffee, and food trucks. An informational booth will offer new market tote bags provided by presenting sponsors Aurora Health Care and BayCare Clinic. The first 75 shoppers at the booth can receive a Visit Manitowoc swag item to place in their tote. The market takes place in downtown Manitowoc.

The Nook Collective 2026 - Author & Vendor Fair

The Nook Collective debuts as Manitowoc, Wisconsin’s first large scale author gathering, bringing together up to 50 authors and book focused vendors in a market style setting. Meet local writers, browse handcrafted book themed goods, and take part in an author panel that invites conversation with the creators behind the stories. Jackson Elementary School Vendor Fair

Jackson Elementary School’s vendor fair features multiple vendors offering a wide range of items, along with raffle baskets. As the school prepares to close, select PTO-owned items will be sold, and proceeds from those PTO sales will stay with the staff and students.

Comic Book Day

Celebrate the worlds of comic books, comic strips, and manga at Manitowoc Public Library. Come in costume, take part in hands on activities, and pick up a comic to enjoy. Browse a used comic sale with issues priced at 25 cents, including selections from Marvel and DC. Giveaways will be available in limited quantities, including free First Little Comics for ages 2 to 7, along with buttons, stickers, and trading cards recommended for ages 13 and up. Items are limited to one per person while supplies last. Show off your fandom in the costume contest. Capture a photo or video at the library to enter, and entries will be shared on the library’s Facebook page. The post with the most likes earns an LED mask, and participants may enter solo or with friends. Follow clues in a scavenger hunt to find hidden characters throughout the library. Completing the hunt earns a small prize and a ticket for a raffle, with potential rewards that include a graphic novel, comic themed trading cards, or a custom made comic keychain. Explore a display of comic collectibles that highlights the medium’s history, and get creative in the Youth Department with superhero mask making and coloring sheets. Celebrate Drinking Water Week with an inside look at the water treatment plant. The facility welcomes the public for guided tours that explain how drinking water is processed, from intake to the tap. Tours depart every 15 minutes throughout the event window, and no advance registration is required. Settle in for a hands-on chunky knit blanket workshop with food and drinks available. No needles are needed, since everything is made by hand, and the format suits both first-timers and experienced knitters. Participants finish with a new blanket, a bag to carry it, and follow-up emailed instructions plus yarn shopping tips for future projects. Blanket size varies based on your preferred stitch style. Tighter stitches create a piece around 45 by 42 inches, while most turn out larger. This is a preregistered, limited-capacity session on a first come basis, with 26 spots available. There are two pricing options. The $65 tier lets you choose from the colors brought to the workshop. The $85 tier uses premium yarn that is softer and thicker, helps disguise small mistakes, and lets you preselect one or two colors. An email is sent about four weeks before the session to finalize those choices. Registration for the $85 option closes four weeks before the workshop if not sold out, and the $65 option closes two weeks before if not sold out. When booking, be sure the selected date and time are correct. Ages 12 and up can complete a blanket on their own. For those who want the social experience without the knitting, an optional $35 add-on will have a finished blanket ready at the event. Purchase this add-on at least two weeks ahead, and note that it must be paired with an $85 registration. In addition to her writing, she co-owns Fresh Water Press, a women-owned publishing company based in Two Rivers, WI, that is dedicated to amplifying voices across Northeast Wisconsin. Think & Drink Series: The Eastland Story

This talk explores the SS Eastland disaster, when the steamer rolled over while still tied to the dock on the Chicago River during a company outing, causing the loss of 844 lives and marking the deadliest single shipwreck in Great Lakes history. Todd Gordon traces the vessel’s story from its 1903 launch through its later service as the USS Wilmette, highlighting unexpected links that tie the Eastland to notable figures and pivotal moments in American history. Gordon is president of the Wisconsin Marine Historical Society and serves on the Advisory Council for the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary. A longtime student of history and former SCUBA diver who has explored Door County wrecks, he spent 43 years with We Energies and co-manages the historic Port Washington 1860 Light Station, with a strong commitment to preserving Great Lakes maritime heritage. A limited bar will offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase, and a livestream will be available with registration. While the series features a themed drink pairing, there is no expectation to consume alcohol. The Masquers Inc. presents the stage musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Capitol Civic Centre, adapted from Roald Dahl’s novel. Marc Shaiman composed the score, with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and the book is by David Greig. Planned activities include hiking, boating if weather allows, singing camp songs, and hands-on art projects. There will also be a guided tour and a Q&A about summer camp. Camp counselors lead all activities and provide supervision. This is a drop-off event for girls only. Lunch is not provided, so bring a cold lunch. The cost is $30 per person.

Settle in at The Nook for a hands-on chunky knit blanket workshop designed for both first-timers and seasoned crafters. Using only your hands, you will create a soft blanket tailored to your preferred look, choosing a looser or tighter stitch that affects the final size. A very tight weave can come out around 45 by 42, and many blankets turn out larger. Every participant finishes with a completed blanket packed in a carry bag and leaves with guidance for future projects, including emailed step-by-step instructions and yarn shopping tips. Two pricing choices are available. The $65 option lets you pick from the selection of colors brought to the session. The $85 option includes preselecting a premium, softer and thicker yarn that helps hide small mistakes and offers many color choices, with the chance to choose one or two colors via an email sent about four weeks before the workshop. This is a preregister event with limited seating awarded first come, first served. Registration for the premium option typically closes about four weeks in advance if not sold out, and the standard option about two weeks in advance. Multiple sessions are scheduled at this venue, so be sure to select the intended session when booking. Ages 12 and up can complete a blanket independently.

Two Rivers Central Park hosts a jazz-focused evening as part of the free Central Park Concert Series. Student musicians from Two Rivers High School, Lincoln High School, Roncalli High School, Wilson Junior High, and Washington Junior High will perform live sets suited for all ages. Downtown Friday Night Live - Acme Pickers

Downtown Friday Night LIVE turns Downtown Two Rivers into an open air stage throughout the summer, filling the area with music, laughter, and a strong sense of community. The series unfolds over nine evenings and every concert is free and open to the public. Expect a mix of sounds, from rock and country to blues and everything in between, ideal for warm nights outdoors. Performances are set in Central Park West. There are no rain dates, so clear skies make each show a special opportunity to unwind. Pack a lawn chair, invite a few friends, and enjoy live music under the summer sky.

Conscious Pilot brings a distinctive sound shaped by seasoned musicians, hard work, and a shared passion for music. The lineup features players from respected Wisconsin bands such as The Groove Hogs and the WAMI Award winning group Separate Ways, blending influences into a tight groove that gets audiences moving. This Bands on the Beach performance is set at Neshotah Beach beneath the Rotary Pavilion, with a weather backup at the Community House in Downtown Two Rivers. Presented with support from Braun Building Center as Major Sponsor and Community First Credit Union as Corporate Sponsor.

Open Sew and Badging with Betty (Ages 13+)

Betty, a sewing enthusiast, leads bimonthly sessions in the Idea Box where attendees can get questions answered and complete sewing machine badging. Bring a personal project to work on or use the library sewing machines to earn a badge. Registration is not required, though space is limited. If the scheduled times do not work, the Youth Department can help arrange a badging appointment with Betty at 920-686-3030. Open to ages 13 and up.

The Adam Project provides live music at PetSkull Brewing Company for an evening with food trucks, performing a blend of Americana, country, and alternative favorites alongside some original songs. Guests can relax in Manitowoc with dinner and PetSkull’s craft beer as the set unfolds.

Layers of calming tones can guide you into a deep theta state of relaxation while blending sound, intention setting, and meditation to bring mind, body, and spirit into harmony. Space is limited.

Concerts in The Park - TR Community Band - Tribute to Rock n' Roll

The Two Rivers Community Band presents a salute to rock and roll at the Schmitt Brothers Stage in Central Park West in downtown Two Rivers. Enjoy free live music with beloved classics and up-tempo favorites in a lively community setting. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, settle in with friends, and take advantage of available concessions. The Two Rivers Craft & Farmers Market will be happening alongside the performance. Updates, including any weather changes, are shared on the TR Parks and Recreation Facebook page. If needed, the concert moves indoors to the J.E. Hamilton Community House Gymnasium so the music continues regardless of the weather. This event is supported by Friends of the Two Rivers Senior Center as the major sponsor for the concert series, and by Community First Credit Union as the corporate sponsor.

Submarine Sleepover for Grown-Ups

Enjoy an overnight experience for grown-ups with the Wisconsin Maritime Museum’s program aboard USS COBIA. Individual participants sleep on the submarine and learn about diving procedures, how torpedoes are fired, and how deck guns are aimed. In the morning, the program includes time in the Museum galleries to learn more about Wisconsin’s maritime heritage. This opportunity is offered a few nights each year, and the cost is $50.00 per participant.
