StoryWalk Kick Off
Enjoy a leisurely walk through a StoryWalk featuring Millie Fleur's Poison Garden by Christy Mandin, then take part in activities for all ages set throughout the gardens. The HPL Bookmobile will be on site so visitors can check out books. Entry for the kickoff is by donation, while regular days have a small admission fee. No registration is required.
Rotary Botanical GardensStoryWalk® 2026- Millie Fleur's Poison Garden
Follow a StoryWalk at Rotary Botanical Gardens that brings Millie Fleur's Poison Garden to life in the children's garden. Move along the path at your own pace, reading the tale one page at a time, then take part in interactive activities and see art inspired by the book, created by volunteer crafters. The featured title, Millie Fleur's Poison Garden by Christy Mandin, tells of an unconventional girl who grows wonderfully strange plants and shares a message about embracing what makes you different. Presented in partnership with Hedberg Public Library. The StoryWalk concept was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, and StoryWalk is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. Admission to the event and to the Gardens is free for the kickoff.
Rotary Botanical GardensBook Fest: Nevermore & Once More Book Exchange
Set at Bodacious Shops of Block 42, this Poe inspired book exchange is part of the 5th Annual Book Fest, hosted by Hedberg Public Library in partnership with Downtown Janesville Inc. A comfortable setting with a hint of the macabre pairs with themed coffee drinks and pastries as readers trade titles. Bring at least one gently used book to swap, or participate with a café purchase. Browse the community selection, explore a Blind Date with a Book for a mystery pick, and leave with a new story to enjoy.
