A Matter of Balance: Preventing Falls (Moran Prairie Library)
Older adults who want to reduce their risk of falling can participate in a small group program led by trained educators from Aging and Long Term Care of Eastern Washington. Across eight sessions, participants set practical activity goals, explore adjustments to their surroundings to lower risk, and practice light exercises to build flexibility, strength, and balance. Meetings include conversation, shared problem solving, and idea sharing, with a workbook provided for each person to support the process. The program also addresses mindset, helping participants feel more confident and in control of fall risks. Registration is required. To register, call 509.777.1571.

For adults, Personal Landscapes brings together artists from across the Inland Northwest who identify as having disabilities to share the stories, perspectives, and lived experiences that shape their creative worlds. Missy Narrance leads a Fiber Arts Open Studio and guides participants through structured projects such as weaving, yarn painting, and printmaking, including collagraphy. The session invites exploration of fiber techniques while expressing personal narratives through hands-on work.

The program covers strengthening resilience, easing stress, and creating a more sustainable balance for both parent and child. Dinner and childcare are provided.
