Pokémon, this entry-level tournament offers a first step into formal competition and awards Championship Points that can contribute toward a potential Worlds invitation. The event uses the Standard format, requires a deck list, and has a $6 entry fee. Matches follow Swiss pairings, best of one, across three 30-minute rounds. Win a Play! Pokémon Prize Pack for each round you take, with at least one Prize Pack guaranteed. Every participant also receives a regular Pokémon booster pack. If booster packs are temporarily unavailable at Anime Kat, store credit equal to the entry fee will be added to your account for a future purchase.
Anime KatTrio Brasileiro
Presented by Field Hall Performs at The Sunset Lounge, this concert spotlights Trio Brasileiro with Dudu Maia, Douglas Lora, and Alexandre Lora. Celebrated internationally for their tight musical bond, the group offers an intimate, glowing take on Brazilian choro. Their album Rosa dos Ventos earned a 2018 Grammy nomination for Best World Music Album and was recognized by DownBeat among the year’s top 20 jazz releases, underscoring their expressive range and precision. The trio’s connection runs deep. Brothers Douglas, on seven-string guitar, and Alexandre, on percussion, began making music together early on, later teaming with bandolin virtuoso Dudu Maia. Regular creative retreats in Caraíva inspired the ensemble Caraivana and strengthened the partnership that fuels their work. Performances move between classic choro and original compositions, marked by nimble interaction, rich detail, and an uplifting sense of joy. Audiences in the Pacific Northwest may remember their appearance at Wintergrass and their faculty concerts at Centrum in Port Townsend. General admission is $20. Card purchases include a 5 percent service fee through the ticketing platform, which can be avoided by paying with cash or check at the box office.
