Peninsula Rifle and Pistol ClubArt Bookmaking: Grades 4-12 – Sequim Branch Library
Teaching artist Kaylee Cammack leads a hands-on art book workshop for teens and tweens at the Sequim Branch Library. Participants in grades 4 through 12 will explore gel printing techniques, then transform their prints into a book they create themselves. The finished book can hold creative writing, stories, journal entries, or any idea that sparks the imagination. Space is limited, and those who register in advance receive priority. Please arrive at the start to take part in the full workshop. This program is part of the Summer Reading Program, supported by local Friends of the Library groups.
Sequim Branch LibraryDiscovery Club: Learn About Bees with Miss Bee Haven Apiary – Port Angeles Main Library
Curious about honey bees and the pollinators that help our gardens and food crops thrive? This Discovery Club session features presenter Tami Baeder from Miss Bee Haven Apiary, PNW, who will explain why pollinators are vital to the food we eat, the different kinds of honey bees, how their bodies are built, and the roles they play inside a hive. A full-size demonstration hive without live bees will be available to examine up close. Baeder has lived in Port Angeles since 2018 and began beekeeping with mentor Jeremiah Johnson in 2019. His family founded Miss Bee Haven Apiary in Utah, and she now leads the PNW chapter, managing over 50 hives each year between Port Angeles and Sequim. Discovery Club is a weekly summer program for kids in grades K to 5 and their families or caregivers, offering hands-on ways to explore art and science, meet new friends, and try new things. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Presented at the Port Angeles Main Library. This event is part of the Summer Reading Program, supported by local Friends of the Library groups.
