The Hotel Roanoke & Conference CenterMeridiane and more
A program featuring Meridiane, Timber Rattle, and Spirit Trap brings together exploratory electronics, layered folk textures, and experimental sound. Meridiane is an international collective now rooted in the Appalachian valleys of southwestern Virginia, first taking shape when songwriter Joshua Strachan of Vaura and Desolation Colony and cellist Kaily Schenker of Solar Hex and Universal Light performed together during a winter night at an Oddfellows Lodge in Blacksburg in January 2020. Strachan later invited 4AD veterans Pieter Nooten of This Mortal Coil and Clan of Xymox and Warren Defever of His Name Is Alive to help finish the debut album To Walk Behind The Sun. Working at a distance, they blended chilly electronics, hypnotic rhythms, atmospheric cello, and ethereal guitar, echoing the members’ earlier projects and peers such as GAS and Tor Lundvall. In late 2025, a Southwest Virginia lineup came together for the project’s first live performance. Timber Rattle, the long running project of Adam Parks, is a traveling and ever-shifting exploration of primordial sound and its ties to landscape, bodies, life and death, magic, language, ritual, myth, space, cycles, animals and plants, as well as food and poison. Parks shapes hypnotic doom folk with layered synth drones, acoustic guitar, and pastoral vocals, and has roots in Ithaca, Seattle, the Czech Republic, and Southwest Virginia. He tours frequently across the United States and Europe as Timber Rattle and with Water Is The Sun, his collaboration with Drekka. Spirit Trap focuses on high concept occult electronics. After studies in Berlin in sound and history, Sean Regan returned to the mountains around Blacksburg and has been bringing a distinctive mix of synthetic and acoustic elements to DIY spaces in Roanoke and Blacksburg.

Its energy is soft yet strong, a reminder that growth often unfolds quietly within. This breathwork and sound immersion with Tanvi Patil is shaped by that lunar spirit. Participants explore EFT tapping centered on abundance and health to clear limiting patterns, spring themed guided imagery that envisions renewal in a garden of possibility, heart opening breathwork to receive expansive momentum, and a restorative sound bath that helps weave renewal and emotional clarity into the body and mind. Together, these practices soften the body, support the nervous system, and cultivate an open, receptive heart space for what is next. The ritual blends grounding somatic tools with lunar spirituality to encourage letting go of what no longer nourishes you, stepping into new cycles with confidence, receiving with an open heart, trusting your timing, and celebrating beauty in yourself and the world. The experience lasts 90 minutes and is priced at $25, or $20 for Uttara Unlimited members. A waiver is requested and FAQs are available. Guided by Tanvi Patil, MPH, PharmD, E-RYT-200, RYT-500, RPYT, a clinical healthcare leader and pharmacist turned yogi and sound healing practitioner, the session draws on evidence informed methods. Her approach unites time honored yogic tools with modern practices such as breath science, guided imagery, somatic repatterning, and sound healing to help people regulate the nervous system, clarify their voice, and move through life with steadiness and ease, all within a trauma aware, heart centered space for transformation.

Everyone will inoculate one or two hardwood logs and can select from gourmet varieties such as shiitake, blue or golden oyster, comb’s tooth, and chestnut. Expect different timelines to the first flush depending on the species, with shiitake typically taking 8 to 12 months and allowing soak-forced fruiting in summer, oysters and chestnuts often appearing in 3 to 6 months, and comb’s tooth in about 6 to 9 months. With proper care, most people see their first harvest within 6 to 12 months, and well-maintained logs can continue producing for 4 to 5 years or longer. Couples and families are welcome to participate together, and groups can choose how many logs they would like to make. Space is limited due to equipment and room at the community garden, there is street parking, and a covered shelter is available, so the workshop runs rain or shine. Attendees can continue growing at home with additional supplies from the mushroom lab, including locally tested spawn and tabletop kits. Sawdust spawn can inoculate more than 20 logs per block with the right tools, while beginner-friendly plug spawn needs only a drill and hammer. Spawn stores well in the refrigerator for 6 to 12 months, and preordering is recommended if you already know you want extra materials because some varieties are made to order. Please bring eye protection or sunglasses, gloves if you prefer, and a water bottle. Clear take-home instructions are provided so you can keep your mushroom garden thriving long after the workshop.

Along the way, you will explore safety and grounding with the Root, emotion and creativity with the Sacral, power and worth with the Solar Plexus, love and connection with the Heart, truth and expression with the Throat, intuition and clarity with the Third Eye, and trust and spiritual connection with the Crown. This journey can support those who have done mindset work yet still sense tension or old patterns in the body, who want a deeper relationship with their intuition, who are seeking a supportive space to release stress, emotions, or energetic blocks, who are curious about breathwork, or who feel called to explore the chakra system and reconnect with themselves. No prior experience is needed, only an open mind and your own breath. Participants may attend individual sessions as drop-ins to focus on the chakra of the week, or commit to the full series to move through the entire system and allow integration over time. A breathwork waiver is required to help create a safe and supportive space for everyone. The cost is $115 for the complete seven-week series or $20 per drop-in session.

3rd Street CoffeehouseColey Chaney and more
Singer-songwriter Cole Chaney headlines an evening shaped by the sound he has pursued on his album In the Shadow of the Mountain. Drawing from Kentucky folk and bluegrass while channeling the grit of 1990s rock, his songs balance acoustic roots with the intensity of influences like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Stone Temple Pilots. Crafted in collaboration with producer Duane Lundy and co-producer Zachary Hamilton, the record transforms string band textures into a larger, more powerful sonic footprint. Onstage, Chaney has broadened his approach by adding drums, bringing weight and momentum to emotionally charged material. His journey from rural Appalachia and welding school to a full-time path in music grounds the stories he tells, with a strong connection to home at the heart of his work. Support comes from Brennan Edwards, a country singer-songwriter whose music reflects bluegrass traditions from the Shenandoah Valley, blending heritage sounds with a contemporary storytelling style.

5 Points Music SanctuaryAnnalyse Marie LIVE at Pollard 107 South
Annalyse Marie takes the stage for a live performance at Pollard 107 South.
Pollard 107 SouthShannon McNally
Shannon McNally delivers a quietly confident, genre-blurring approach to Americana, moving with ease across that spectrum. Across nearly twenty years, the Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and guitarist has built a deep catalog and a wide circle of collaborators, pairing high-level musicianship with a voice that reaches straight to the heart. Her live career began on the 1990s jam band circuit with acts like Robert Randolph and Derek Trucks, and she continues to create work that resists easy classification. Guided by the simple idea of serving the song, and inspired by artists such as J.J. Cale, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Dr. John, and Jim Dickinson, she chooses authenticity over flash. McNally has steered her own course for most of her career, standing her ground with label teams to protect her vision, then moving from the major-label system to smaller imprints and self-released projects. Reviewers praise the twang in her delivery, the slow-burn intensity she uncovers in deceptively simple lyrics, and her standout electric guitar work. The result is a seasoned troubadour presence and songs that stay with you.

Angelic Reiki Level 1 & 2 Workshop
This Level 1 and 2 Angelic Reiki workshop focuses on awakening an unconditional connection with the healing energy of the Angelic Kingdom. It is intended as a meaningful gift for personal growth and for sharing support with friends and family. While it does not provide a professional qualification, many participants experience it as a catalyst for discovering and following their life purpose, and for some it becomes a step toward sharing Angelic Reiki with others as a healer or teacher. The experience emphasizes personal healing and spiritual development, helping you recognize your own gifts and talents and deepen your ability to be there for loved ones. The approach is practical, with plenty of time to both give and receive Angelic Reiki sessions. Attunements are facilitated by the Angelic Kingdom of Light, with the energy transmitted directly rather than through a human channel, which is described as maintaining the purity of the connection. Each participant is supported in forming a personal angelic interface.
