Charles R. Hill Community CenterDaisy Art Parade Open Studio Sessions
A free weekly open studio invites people of all ages and experience levels to make art together, meet neighbors, and connect with or form a Daisy Art Parade krewe. These gatherings are part of It’s Here, Roanoke, a citywide initiative that strengthens the arts ecosystem by linking residents, artists, and organizations through creative collaboration. Participants can learn techniques with guidance from community artists and volunteers, then team up on large-scale creations such as puppets, costumes, banners, and other parade pieces. A krewe is simply a group of friends, neighbors, coworkers, or fellow art lovers who choose to create something joyful together and share it with the community. Anyone interested in making art, meeting new people, trying collaborative creation for the first time, or getting support to start a krewe is welcome. The Daisy Art Parade celebrates community creativity, inviting Roanoke residents to craft bold work and share it in a spirit of connection and pride.
