Dinking Divas: Women's Focused Pickleball

Designed for women ready to move beyond the basics, this focused pickleball training at Lakeview Park Pickleball Courts blends targeted drills with coached gameplay. Under the guidance of instructor Elaine Thompson, participants work on reliable serves, deep returns, and accurate third-shot drops. Time at the non volley zone builds confidence through purposeful dinking, controlled resets, and quick volley exchanges. Scrimmages include real time feedback on court positioning, smart shot selection, and teamwork, with strategy segments covering stacking, effective coverage, and how to spot and exploit opponent tendencies. The program is intended for intermediate female players aiming to sharpen skills and decision making. Attendance is free. For more information, contact Colonial Heights Recreation & Parks at (804) 520-9390.

Lorcana League

Entry is free for a Lorcana League event in a constructed format played across three best of three rounds. The league season starts the week after a new set releases and wraps up with a Top 8 playoff held just before the next set arrives. Participants earn points each week for showing up, with additional points awarded through event software, and standings are updated weekly. If there is a tie for the final Top 8 slot, a playoff will decide who advances. Prizes for the Top 8 include a booster box of the current set for first place, a half box for second, and a quarter box for third through eighth. Players can also expect weekly giveaways and promo cards. Regular tournament participation influences preorder priority, with participation points helping determine access.
