Explore clay during the Spring B term with options for adults and youth. Adults can choose from seven class times offered during the day or in the evening. Each adult session lasts three hours and continues for five weeks. Youth offerings are divided by age, with Play with Clay for younger children on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and teen classes on Mondays and Fridays. All skill levels are welcome, from first timers to experienced makers. Work on handbuilding or wheel throwing projects of your choice, then have pieces fired to cone 10 in a gas reduction kiln with a selection of glazes available.

The 12th annual Garden Barn Raising Perma Blitz brings families and neighbors together for a hands-on day of installing a food forest design for this year’s recipient, the Chidester family. Each year a ready-to-build plan is selected, and participants learn by doing as they help put it in. Carpooling from Utah County is being organized, and the Chidester family’s five children, ages 8 to 17, will be involved. Organizers encourage participants to come prepared with water, a potluck lunch, work gloves, closed-toe shoes for digging, a hat, sunscreen, plants to donate to the family, a charged phone to stream the day, a shovel, a level, an A-frame if available, and other garden tools. Upon arrival, attendees check in and get settled before being organized into small tables of about three to four. Throughout the evening, participants note who they would like to stay in touch with, then submit their selections at the end.
