Empowerment Community Forum With Dr. Juan Mejia

This community forum with Dr. Juan Mejia, president of Tyler Junior College, brings together residents, leaders, organizations, and students to discuss opportunities, resources, and the community’s path forward. Participants can connect, exchange ideas, and work together on issues that matter locally, with an emphasis on strengthening partnerships, increasing awareness, and empowering individuals to make a difference. Monday Open Mic

Rose City Comedy hosts an open mic built for raw, boundary-pushing stand-up with a punk rock attitude. Newcomers and seasoned locals step up to try unfiltered material, delivering sets that can soar or crash as Tyler’s scene takes shape one fearless performance at a time. The atmosphere leans underground rather than corporate, sign-ups are handled in order of arrival, and the spotlight stays on bold voices, local support and plenty of noise.

Zumba

TISDFND Golf Classic 2026

An annual golf tournament at Hollytree Country Club begins with a breakfast for participants, then players head to the course for a day of golf. The Tyler ISD Foundation, the nonprofit philanthropic partner of Tyler ISD, helps deliver resources that fuel learning, elevate classroom teaching, and open more opportunities for students through exemplary programs.

Raising Cane’s FC Dallas 2015 Juarez London Fundraiser

A dedicated group of players has earned an opportunity to travel to London, and a community fundraiser at Raising Cane’s will help make the trip possible. This is the team’s first fundraising event at the restaurant. When ordering, mention FC Dallas/ETX Road to London and 15 percent of the purchase will be directed to the team’s travel fund. Every meal mentioned in this way contributes to getting these hard-working players to London.

All Day Coffee, Tea, & Treat Donation Drive-Thru / ETX Giving Day

Coffee, tea, and sweet treats are offered in a drive-thru to raise funds for East Texas Giving Day in support of a CPR program. Contributions help with certification for CPR instruction, the purchase of teaching aids, and the delivery of free and affordable CPR education and certification for community members, clients, and mothers and babies. The drive-thru welcomes donations any time, and every 25th donor receives a complimentary Rose City Wellness mug. Those who tag three people and share to their feed are entered to win a custom designed 8 inch cake or two dozen cupcakes.

Adult Miracle League Game

An Adult Miracle League game is scheduled at Faulkner Park, part of a multi-week series of adult league matchups listed on the game schedule. This event features adult participants competing in an organized league setting.

Watercolor Workshop

Immerse yourself in watercolor with a spring-inspired workshop focused on flowers and leaves. Participants learn basic techniques and have time to practice before creating a finished piece. Choose to complete an 8-by-10 painting, put together a coordinated set of bookmarks, or craft a set of greeting cards. All required materials, tools, and instruction are provided.

FARGO | ETXFS Member Pick

East Texas Film Society partners with Liberty Hall for the second Member Pick, presenting Fargo. The sixth feature from the Coen Brothers follows a Minnesota car salesman whose botched scheme unravels, while the persistent and very pregnant Marge Gunderson keeps digging. This darkly comic crime story is known for sharp wit, distinctive style, and a streak of absurdity, adding to the brothers’ prolific body of work. Frances McDormand stars alongside William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, Harve Presnell, and Peter Stormare. The film received recognition including Best Screenplay and Best Actress for McDormand. Rated R. After the screening, a conversation with the East Texas Film Society team is planned. Admission is $5, and ETXFS members receive free entry and help select the next screening at Liberty Hall.

East Texas Giving Day

As part of East Texas Giving Day, Rose City Wellness is hosting an all-day donation drive-thru to help reach a $2,500 goal that will make infant CPR classes free and affordable for community members, families, and caregivers. Donors can stay in their vehicles and receive coffee, tea, and treats as a thank-you. To add a bit of extra excitement, every 25th donor will receive a free gift. It is a simple way to support local wellness education and give back to the community.

Tuesday Night Karaoke

Take the stage for Tuesday night karaoke at Summerfields Grille and Bar inside the Holiday Inn Tyler Conference Center. The venue welcomes hotel guests and the local community. Holding Space, presented by The Evie Effect, is a suicide prevention workshop that equips individuals and communities to build safe, inclusive spaces that nurture hope and healing. This immersive program introduces the foundations of holding space, encourages open conversation, and offers guidance for supporting people who may be experiencing mental health challenges. Participants leave with practical tools for building connection, addressing suicide openly and with compassion, and strengthening mental well-being in the areas where they have influence. The workshop concludes with a Q&A for deeper engagement and tailored insight. Certified Babysitter Training

Shiloh Road Church of Christ hosts a one-time Certified Babysitter Training created with local child placing agencies to prepare and certify sitters who support foster families. Partner agencies include 4Kids4Families, Arrow, Bair, TBHC, Methodist Children’s Home, Grace Manor, Christian Homes, Azleway, UpBring, Hope Haven, Buckner, Compass Connection, and Noble. A hands-on Infant and Child CPR and First Aid segment is scheduled before the main class, and dinner is provided for those attending in person. There is also an option to participate virtually through Zoom. Participants must be 21 or older. After attending, completing the required paperwork, and earning Infant and Child CPR and First Aid certification, you may serve foster families for up to 72 hours. If you need CPR and First Aid certification, an additional $60 is paid to E&E Heartsavers via Venmo at Nancy-Elliott-CPR, then send a text to Nancy at 903-714-5101 with your name and email address to begin the online portion of the course.

6th Annual Remembrance Run Benefitting The Children's Park of Tyler

The sixth annual Remembrance Run benefits The Children’s Park of Tyler and creates a thoughtful way to honor lives that have been lost. Participants can take part in a 5K run, a 1 mile walk, or a Kids Dash, making it possible for all ages to participate together. Many choose to carry a loved one’s photo, tuck a picture into a bib, or arrange for legacy memorial signs to be displayed along the route as a tribute. Proceeds support The Children’s Park in providing free bereavement care for families grieving the death of a child, helping sustain compassionate services for those on a healing journey.

Sessions are held at the Rose City Birth Center on the first and third Sunday of each month. Garden Gathering!

A friendly meetup at the WCL garden brings together the ETX Community Gardeners for a relaxed, drop-in gathering where everyone is welcome, whether you want to lend a hand or simply say hello. Those planning to work in the beds are encouraged to bring gloves due to ants and broken glass, and any tools you have such as a shovel, rake, pitchfork, trowel, or snips are helpful. Bringing a snack to share is welcome, and water for the plants is especially appreciated. There is no water meter on site, so community water donations keep the garden growing, and a jug can be provided if you need one for transport.
