Children's Art Class- Doodle Bugs
Designed for children ages 5 to 9, this class focuses on two-dimensional materials and beginner drawing skills while introducing young artists to notable creators and major art movements. Students build confidence incrementally, using playful doodling and guided exercises to strengthen technique. Monthly themes shape the projects. January centers on space, with activities like watercolor nebula effects using salt, marbled star patterns, imaginative alien posters, and pastel planet studies. February moves under the sea through paper-collage ocean scenes, floating jellyfish sculptures, shell-based creations, and fish made with stamps. March explores the world of dreams with cloud paintings, heat-melt experiments, humorous face collages, and quirky creature artworks. April blossoms with paper flowers and mobiles, paintings inspired by Monet’s water lilies, observational studies of real blooms, and pop-up bouquets. May turns to pattern and design through collage scavenger hunts, a custom set of patterned cards, poster layout practice, and simple flip books that make dots appear to grow. Monday sessions are intentionally priced a bit lower. Many teacher work days fall on Mondays, so regular classes may pause for camps held during school breaks, and the reduced rate helps balance those missed days.
Children's Crafting Class- Make Make
This drop-in crafting class for ages 5 and up celebrates the magic of making, guiding kids from sewing to sculpture and cardboard creation with a focus on process over perfection. Each month introduces a new theme that sparks imagination and encourages bold, hands-on exploration with materials. January features Space Lab with projects like cardboard rockets, shaving cream marbling, relief moon sculptures and an alien puppet. February turns to Tides and Tales with mini pirate ships, ocean shadow boxes and paper mache starfish. March explores a Dream World with melted sculptures, glowing clouds, surreal mobiles and impossible machines. April blooms with clay garden tiles, paper flowers, changing butterflies and plant boxes. May highlights Patterns in Design with dot sculptures, a pattern deck house of cards and mini toy design. Monday sessions are intentionally priced a little lower, since many teacher work days fall on Mondays and regular classes may pause for school-break camps, and the reduced cost helps balance missed Mondays.
