Life Safety ParkMusical Storytime
A weekly, music-filled story time for young children features group singing and stories, with each session focusing on a different letter of the alphabet. Participants explore the ABCs through songs and letter-themed tales.
Barnes & NobleTornado Town: Preparedness
This free course for students in grades 4 through 6 focuses on severe weather awareness and emergency preparedness. The classroom lesson includes an online quiz, so bringing a device is recommended. Afterward, participants explore Safety Town during a scavenger hunt to gather supplies and assemble an emergency kit in a simulated situation. Topics include common North Texas weather hazards, the difference between a watch and a warning, reliable ways to receive emergency updates, and how to create a preparedness plan. Registration is required and free. A parent or guardian must check in the child and may stay for the class or return for pickup. Participants should arrive about ten minutes early. Candid photos may be taken.
Life Safety ParkTweens and Teens Art Workshop: Mosaic Art
Discover mosaic art in a creative workshop tailored to tweens and teens. Participants will make a 6-inch mosaic square while exploring design, pattern, and color with stained glass, tiles, gems, mirrors, and other materials. All supplies are provided, including a grout kit to finish at home. No prior art experience is needed. For ages 10 and up. Registration is required.
