The home club will adopt the Abilene Prairie Dogs identity and the ballpark will embrace a full 90s theme. There will be a giveaway of a replica Abilene Prairie Dogs jersey, limited to one per person. Complimentary parking is available with plenty of spaces. Distant Worlds - Alien Life?

This planetarium presentation, Distant Worlds, explores the possibility of life beyond Earth and reflects on humanity's long-standing curiosity about the night sky. It considers the vastness of the cosmos with its countless stars and planets while noting that Earth remains the only confirmed world with life. Created in Germany through a collaboration among the planetariums in Münster, Bochum, Kiel, Mannheim, Osnabrück and Wolfsburg, and produced at LWL-Planetarium Münster, the film features visuals partly rendered with Digital Sky 2 from Sky-Skan Inc. Directed by Björn Voß of Münster Planetarium, it runs 53 minutes. Admission is $5 per person. Seating is limited to 70 with two wheelchair-accessible areas. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Tickets are available online or at the door.

Scrambler Pro Shootout Series - Race 5

The final Scrambler Pro Series Shootout brings the regular season to a close, and when the points are tallied after this event the top ten racers in each class will advance to the championship playoff at Freedom of War. The schedule features a Friday Test and Tune session with tech inspection available for $40, followed by the main Scrambler Pro Series racing on Saturday. Spectator side general admission is $20. Pit side parking for non racers is $50. RV parking without a race car is $100 per day, and RV parking with power is $175. A $5 convenience fee applies to all credit card purchases. Points are awarded for key milestones. Passing tech earns 35 points, each competition round win is worth 20 points, and a bye also awards 20 points. Class payouts and rules for the first five races apply here. In Scrambler, the winner receives $5,000 with a $250 entry and a $40 tech card, a 20 car minimum, a .400 pro tree, a random index between 5.50 and 5.80 each round, door cars only, no wheelie bars, and no delay boxes. In Lil Scrambler, the purse is $4,000 with a $200 entry and a $40 tech card, a 20 car minimum, a .400 pro tree, a random index between 6.50 and 6.80 each round, door cars only, no wheelie bars, and no delay boxes. In Baby Scrambler, the purse is $3,000 with a $150 entry and a $40 tech card, a 20 car minimum, a .400 pro tree, a random index between 7.50 and 7.80 each round, door cars only, no wheelie bars, and no delay boxes. Abilene Pinball Monday

Free Play Abilene hosts a monthly pinball tournament with free entry for all. Players compete in groups of four using a Group Match Play format and fit in as many games as possible during the main session, with standings displayed on the TVs throughout the event. There are no eliminations during this stage, so everyone keeps playing. After the main session, the top eight advance to a brief playoff. The winner takes home the actual pinball from the machine where they sealed the victory, along with a Polaroid photo to match the 80s theme.

Big Country Elite Volleyball Camp 2026

Get ready for the high school volleyball season with a three day camp at Abilene Youth Sports Authority in Abilene. Athletes train for five hours each day with a mix of team camp sessions and live match play against other programs from the area. Open to incoming 9th to 12th graders, the format welcomes full teams with their coaches as well as individual players aiming to build skills for the 2026 season. Programs already confirmed include Abilene Wylie, Cooper, Abilene High, Clyde, Jim Ned, Hawley, Albany, Sweetwater, Aspermont, and Merkel.

ACU Baseball Prospect Camp | June 30th, 2026

This camp is designed to give the coaching staff a complete evaluation of prospective players. Position players will participate in the 60-yard dash, defensive evaluations, on-field batting practice, and vertical jump testing. Offensive metrics will be measured via trackman. Athletes will also tour the facility with current ACU Baseball players. Pitchers will throw a 12-15 pitch bullpen on Trackman and participate in pre-throw and post-throw routines, along with vertical and broad jump testing. Pitching metrics will be provided via Trackman, and pitchers will also tour the weight room and baseball facilities, followed by a pitching talk and Q&A. Participants should bring necessary baseball equipment, including a bat, glove, baseball pants, hat, helmet, and sunscreen. Catchers should bring their own gear. Both turf shoes and cleats are required.

Freedom of War packs a full weekend of drag racing, a fireworks show, and plenty of activity on and off the track, including a driver meet and greet and Powerwheels racing for the kids. The program moves from tech and drivers meetings into hot-track action, with rounds continuing late and more racing after the fireworks. Small Tire entries are currently full, with limited alternate spots still available. The headline Small Tire field is guaranteed for $150,000 off the trailer with a $1,000 entry and a $50 tech card, paying $75,000 to the winner, $20,000 to second, $10,000 each for third and fourth, and $6,250 each for fifth through eighth. It uses 28x10.5 Non-W tires, requires steel roof and quarters unless different from the factory, must start from the driver’s seat, must be a door car with a driveshaft safety loop, allows AWD, and prohibits wheelie bars and added weight past the rear bumper. An engine diaper or belly pan is preferred. Alternates may jump into a 2nd Chance Small Tire program that includes one test pass and a $10,000 guaranteed purse with BJ Flagging. Cars cannot be pushed to the lanes and cannot carry added weight past the bumper, and only factory or stock style wings or carbon fiber wings are allowed. A fire jacket and helmet are required and shorts are not permitted. An engine diaper or belly pan is preferred. Daily Driver runs both days with $3,000 guaranteed, a $200 buy in, and a $50 tech card. Entries must be tagged, titled, and insured, keep factory glass, body panels, and frame, and retain a full interior with a back seat delete allowed. Seats must be automotive with padding, and all lights, signals, the charging system, and brake lights must function. Suspension must remain factory style in the factory location, including IRS where originally equipped, and any factory 4 link or ladder bar setup must remain stock with no aftermarket 4 link parts. No alcohol or methanol as the primary fuel is allowed, though blends are permitted. Exhaust must exit to the rear end or out the back. No slicks are allowed. Tires must be 275 DOT radials, or on 17 inch wheels or larger may be any size DOT radial. AWD is allowed on a 100 treadwear radial at all four corners. No wheelie bars, no exterior weight beyond the body line or bumper, and only factory or stock style wings or carbon fiber wings are allowed. A fire jacket and helmet are required and shorts are not permitted. An engine diaper or belly pan is preferred. Index racing is offered at 8.20, 7.50, and 6.40. Each index has a $150 buy in and a $50 tech card, and delay boxes are not allowed. The 8.20 class adds $820 to the top, while the 7.50 and 6.40 classes return 100 percent of the purse. The Lil Gangster 5.30 Class carries a $200 buy in with a $50 tech card and pays $5,000 on one day and $10,000 on the other. It is a 5.30 index for door cars running 28x10.5 Non W or 275/60/15 tires, or factory tires on 17 inch rims or larger where applicable. Wheelie bars, throttle stops, delay boxes, and time slips are not part of this class, and AWD is allowed. Powerwheels racing runs off the tree with no gas and remote control permitted, featuring both Modified and Stock groups, each with a $25 buy in and 100 percent payback. A Racer Practice Tree Showdown is scheduled with a $100 buy in and $5,000 to the winner. Spectator admission on the spectator side is $30. VIP fence parking on the spectator side is $20 per car plus $30 per person. Pit side parking for non racers is $50 per car plus $30 per person. RV daily parking without a race car is $100, and on site power is $75. A $5 convenience fee applies to credit card transactions, and kids 12 and under are admitted free. Public Show - Double Feature - Einstein's Gravity Playlist & Cosmic Mashups

A special double feature brings together two short immersive films that explore the frontiers of astrophysics. First up, Einstein’s Gravity Playlist invites viewers to listen in on the ripples of space and time that Einstein envisioned more than a century ago, tracing how gravitational waves are detected and how these breakthroughs deepen our understanding of the universe’s darker mysteries. Released in March 2018 and running 23 minutes, this program was produced by Montana State University and is narrated by Alisa Amador. The second feature, Cosmic Mashups, follows Dr. Becky Nevin’s research into how collisions between galaxies can awaken supermassive black holes and energize the centers of most galaxies. Produced by Fiske Planetarium in collaboration with experts from CU Boulder, this 21 minute film debuted in February 2023 and was directed by Dr. Nevin. It is designed for general audiences, particularly ages 14 to adults. Admission is $5 per person. Seating is limited to 70 with two designated wheelchair seating areas. Tickets are available online or at the door. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
