The Ice House at LSDGBeginner Sewing Skills Series (South Branch)
Teens and adults can build confidence with needle and thread in a beginner-friendly sewing series at the South Branch Library. Each meeting introduces a new technique, from hand stitching fundamentals to the basics of using a sewing machine. Over three sessions this month, participants will apply what they learn to create a mouse pincushion. All materials and clear instruction are provided, and the series is guided by a former home economics teacher.
Pinball Monday
Free Play Abilene hosts a monthly pinball tournament with free entry for everyone. The main session uses Group Match Play with four player games, and standings are shown on the TVs so participants can follow the leaderboard. There are no eliminations during the main portion, then the top eight advance to a quick playoff. The champion takes home the actual pinball from the machine they win on, plus a Polaroid photo as a nod to the 80s theme.

The MSF Basic RiderCourse (BRC) is designed for individuals considering motorcycle riding. It introduces the fundamentals of motorcycle operation and emphasizes safety strategies. The course provides motorcycles and helmets for participants. It includes a 5-hour online course and 11 hours of riding instruction.
