MBAHA Trio
Now in its seventeenth year, the Trio Coastal Culinary Experience brings together teams of three, pairing a professional chef with one college student and one high school student to collaborate on an original meal. Alongside the cuisine, local mixologists craft custom cocktails, with beer and wine also available, while live music from the Chocolate Chip band sets the tone throughout the evening. Created to champion the culinary arts, the event provides students with hands-on experience, and a portion of the proceeds supports the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association’s scholarship funds for hospitality and culinary education.

Legends in ConcertAUDITIONS: I Hate Hamlet
Auditions are being held for the stage comedy I Hate Hamlet at Long Bay Theatre Studio in Myrtle Beach. Please note the studio is in Myrtle Beach, not North Myrtle Beach. The play follows television actor Andrew Rally, whose series has just been canceled as he lands the opportunity to play Hamlet in Central Park. He is living in a New York apartment once occupied by John Barrymore, and after his agent reminisces about a past romance with the famous actor, a séance brings Barrymore’s ghost into Andrew’s life. The legendary spirit urges Andrew to accept the Shakespearean role, while a fast-talking friend from Los Angeles tempts him with a lucrative new TV project. The story unfolds as a comic tug-of-war as Andrew contends with stage fright, swordplay, conflicting advice, and a faltering Hamlet debut. Roles being cast include Andrew Rally, his girlfriend Deirdre McDavey who is determined to wait for marriage, his agent Lillian Troy who recalls an affair with Barrymore, the flamboyant ghost of John Barrymore himself, Felicia Dantine the real estate broker with a flair for séances, and Gary Peter Lefkowitz, the confident producer pushing Andrew back toward Hollywood.
