Pause Party REMIX: Menopause, Reimagined - A Night of Connection, Insight & Support

Pause Party REMIX offers a renewed take on the original gathering, designed in response to requests for more connection, conversation, and support around menopause. It brings research-based guidance together with real-life perspectives, creating a welcoming setting for learning and sharing. Attendees hear from trusted local experts in women’s health, movement, neuroscience, nutrition, pelvic health, and skincare. Lauren Zajac of Balance & Blossom contributes a focus on education, compassion, and whole-woman care. The format is interactive rather than lecture-style. Guided discussions, reflective moments, meaningful connections, and opportunities for creative expression are central to the experience. Small group pods help normalize topics that rarely come up in everyday life, and participants receive practical next steps, supportive tools, and options for deeper engagement. Whether noticing the first signs of change, moving through a significant transition, or simply seeking knowledge, all are welcome. Casual attire fits the spirit, and an optional nod to the 1980s like leg warmers adds a playful twist. The goal is for everyone to leave feeling informed, connected, supported, and less alone.

Stories of Loss: A Grief Education and Support Group

Hosted through a partnership between Koch Funeral Home and the YMCA of Centre County, this grief education and support group series welcomes adults of every age to gather at the State College YMCA. Participants explore the realities of grief and mourning, hear how others navigate loss, and have space to share personal stories in a compassionate setting alongside people who have also experienced bereavement. The sessions are led by facilitators Jackie Naginey Hook and Brenda Oyler Kim. To RSVP, contact Jackie Naginey Hook by email at Jackie@JackieHook.com or by phone at 814-237-2712. CATAArt Poster Contest: Bus Reveal!

Celebrate the unveiling of a CATAArt bus wrapped in creations by local students in kindergarten through fifth grade, all inspired by the idea of connecting the community. Art instructors from the State College Area School District selected one winner from each grade, and those pieces have been combined into a full-bus design that will travel throughout the Centre region from May to November. Remarks will be offered by State College Mayor Ezra Nanes and by representatives from CATA and the State College Area School District art department. Students, families, and community members are welcome to celebrate the young artists. Contest winners will receive art supply kits and prizes provided by Discovery Space and Centre Elite Gymnastics. CATA staff will be available to assist families interested in the Youth Summer Pass, which offers free rides for ages 18 and under from May through August.
