All About Growing Potatoes
Learn the essentials of growing potatoes at a workshop led by Master Gardeners and The Greenhouse Project. Topics include choosing and preparing seed potatoes, encouraging sprouts, mixing soil and finding good sun, planting in trenches, raised beds, or grow bags, and caring for plants with hilling, covering, and thoughtful watering. The session also covers when to harvest, how to store your tubers, and enjoyable ways to use the crop. Held at The Greenhouse Project in Nay Aug Park, the workshop has a $10 fee that includes three pounds of seed potatoes to take home. Register by emailing programs@scrantongreenhouse.org. Payment can be made in advance or at the door.
