All are welcome, whether members or not. This installment in a Pittsburgh history series highlights Andy Warhol through the firsthand perspective of his nephew, Donald G. Warhola. A cocktail hour precedes the presentation. Warhola is Vice President of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and serves as liaison to The Andy Warhol Museum, where he works in the education department as a Warhola family historian. He is a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and chair of its Audit Committee. The son of Andy Warhol’s middle brother, the late John Warhola, he moved to New York City after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh to install a network computer system for Andy Warhol Enterprises, Inc. He later earned a Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and spent ten years in community mental health as a child and adolescent therapist. He now works with children who have special mental health needs and lives in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, with his wife Jarka and son Andrew.

Each session revisits the basic step, then builds with one key element such as right and left turns, a cross-body lead, variations of the basic step, and attention to frame, technique, and connection. This practical class explores how the Unix shell and core DNS utilities form the basis of network management and security. Working with a Raspberry Pi, participants practice essential shell commands, make secure remote connections with SSH, and investigate how domain names relate to IP addresses using tools such as nslookup and whois. The session also covers BIND’s background and purpose, running a privacy focused local DNS on a Raspberry Pi, and a guided, step by step installation and configuration of Pi-hole to block ads and trackers across an entire network. Challenges posed by ad tech and community driven solutions are discussed along the way. Every attendee leaves with a Raspberry Pi 3 that already has Pi-hole installed and configured. The instructor is Jason Lines. Capacity is limited to six people. The cost is 60 dollars for non members and 55 dollars for HackPGH members. His early immersion in classical music and a formative introduction to Flatt and Scruggs shaped a path that included recognition at youth competitions in the Blue Ridge Mountains as both a banjo player and a flatpicking guitarist. Highlights include winning the Kruger Brothers’ Young Songwriter's Contest at age 11 with an original piece inspired by Norse mythology, releasing a debut album with Patuxent Records at 14, collaborations with Pete Wernick, Danny Paisley, Mark Schatz, Patrick MacAvinue, and Christopher Henry, appearances at festivals such as Merlefest and FloydFest, a feature on PBS's Woodsongs, and a FreshGrass Competition win with The Birth of Eros, a hard-driving banjo instrumental rooted in a romantic classical theme. Carnegie Performing Arts Center is holding registration for fall dance and acting classes, with new students welcome to stop by during the scheduled registration hours. Offerings are available for ages 2 to 18, covering ballet, tap, jazz, pre-dance, hip hop, lyrical, modern, and acting, and include opportunities to perform on stage. Participants may appear in as many productions as they wish, from The Nutcracker Ballet and Peter Pan to Alice in Wonderland Ballet and the annual spring recital. It begins with a refreshing herbal tea, then moves into a slow, all-levels stretch designed to release tension and help you unwind. As sunlight fades and the room darkens, transition into guided relaxation accompanied by the resonant tones of crystal singing bowls and layered, calming instruments. Linger afterward to settle, sip your tea, and chat with others before heading out. No prior experience is required. Please bring a mat. Capacity is limited.
