Mountain Edge A&S Night

The Shire of Mountain Edge gathers in the Community Room at the McMinnville Public Library for a friendly Arts and Sciences session focused on creativity and conversation. Some meetings feature a structured class that introduces a new skill, while others provide open work time as members concentrate on their current projects. Common activities include sewing, weaving, leatherwork and more. It is a chance to connect with fellow Shire members, see works in progress, and ask questions about techniques or get help with a project. For safety and to respect library guidelines, projects involving hazardous materials such as metal work, lampworking, or acid etching are not permitted.

Book Blub at The Common Cup

A monthly book club gathers at The Common Cup for lively conversation around a shared read and a rotating theme. The Common Cup offers an evening menu for purchase that includes pizza by the slice, side salads, grilled sandwiches, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Each month’s genre is chosen by drawing from a jar. Participants suggest titles that fit the next theme, all suggestions go back into the jar, and one book is selected for the following discussion. A year list of genres is provided so there is plenty of time to brainstorm book ideas. Attendance is flexible, allowing people to drop in as schedules permit and keep up with the reading list even if a meeting is missed.

"Animal Kingdom" Monthly Trivia Night

An animal themed trivia night welcomes everyone, not only devoted wildlife fans. Expect rounds that pull from animals in pop culture, sports teams linked to creatures, and well known brands and their mascots, so anything related to animals could appear. It takes place at Carlton Corners and at Larson House. Reservations are recommended because seats tend to fill quickly. A limit on team size applies.

Noche Social & Networking Event

This monthly networking social at Portland Community College Newberg Center brings together professionals and Latino business owners from a variety of industries and backgrounds. Attendees can connect, expand their professional circles, and explore opportunities for career growth. Kinder Registration for 2026-2027

An optional, open house style event offers families a chance to register incoming kindergarten students for the 2026-2027 school year. Children need to be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026. Attendees may arrive and leave at their convenience. Activities include completing registration, viewing classrooms, and meeting the kindergarten teachers along with the principal and office staff. Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead

Gallery Theater presents Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, a quick-moving, intellectually playful comedy that follows two supporting figures from Hamlet as they try to make sense of a world they barely understand. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern toss coins, question what is real, and search for purpose while crossing paths with the mysterious Player and a troupe of Tragedians who seem to know more than they reveal. Familiar faces from the Danish court drift through their journey, drawing the pair toward an outcome they cannot alter. 5th Annual Camas Festival

Now in its fifth year, the Camas Festival fills Nicholson Library and the surrounding spaces at Linfield University with a full day of activities and learning. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. The program opens on the Library Patio, then continues with all-day offerings that include a Chachalu Tribal Museum exhibit and community tables. The Linfield Art Gallery presents Continuality, an exhibition by artist Tammie Dupuis. An Indigenous Creators Marketplace is available throughout the event, and guided tours of the Cozine Creek camas patch are offered with shuttles departing from the Nicholson Library Ford Parking Lot. Families will find hands-on activities for children. A featured talk on camas cultivation and preparation is led by Greg Archuleta and Chris Rempel, followed by an artist conversation with Tammie Dupuis. The schedule is subject to change. Linfield’s campus and Nicholson Library are fully accessible. The Cozine Creek tours include some steeper sections and uneven ground, so sturdy, mud-resistant shoes are recommended. Parking is available in non-reserved spaces. Chris Rempel, of Kalapuya, Chinook, and Klamath heritage, serves as a Cultural Resources Specialist for the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. Greg Archuleta is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and works as the tribe’s Cultural Policy Analyst, with family connections to Willamette Tumwater, Clackamas, Santiam Kalapuya, and Shasta or Takelma communities. Artist Tammie Dupuis works from a mixed-heritage perspective shaped by a father from the Bitterroot Salish and Q’lispe tribes of Montana and maternal grandparents who were white settlers on the reservation in the early 20th century, exploring how these histories intersect, conflict, and coexist.

Share and discover tools and gardening supplies at a free community Give or Take focused on the Theme: Tools & Gardening, hosted in the parking lot of Newberg First United Methodist Church. Participants can pass along useful items and pick up what they need at no cost. Expect a mix of seeds, houseplants, starts, indoor and outdoor pots including rigid nursery pots, and a variety of garden and hand tools with accessories. Donations should be clean, unbroken, and in working order. Items may be dropped off without staying on site, and taking items does not require donating. Please skip furniture, lawn mowers or other large equipment, chemicals, fertilizer, and dirt. Any remaining items may be directed to local community-serving organizations. This event is organized by volunteers with Newberg Mutual Aid & Social Society, with the location hosted by Newberg First United Methodist Church.

Farm Fest 2026

Celebrate early agricultural traditions at the Yamhill County Heritage Center as the West Coast’s biggest plowing contest unfolds in the fields. Teams of draft horses and mules demonstrate power and precision while turning the soil the way it was done more than a century ago. The experience continues with hands-on activities for children featuring historic crafts and games, along with demonstrations of pioneer skills around the museum grounds and in the blacksmith shop. Local vendors offer food throughout, creating a welcoming community atmosphere that honors Yamhill County’s farming heritage.

Sculptural Ceramic Workshop

Explore ceramic handbuilding as you shape imaginative wall-mounted vessels or create an organic sculpture of your own. Guidance covers surface texture and color, and all needed supplies and kiln firings are provided. MG3 is a 3v3 basketball league for youth and high school athletes from McMinnville and nearby communities. It is open to current 2nd through 11th grade players from school and club programs, with competition available at every level. The league focuses on giving players freedom to play and grow, creating a space to explore and compete without direct criticism from adults or coaches. Edible Garden Festival

Mother’s Day Sound Bath

Honor yourself and the women who have supported you through gentle movement, guided meditation, and intentional sound. This 90-minute gathering is designed to help you slow down, rest, and reset. Join Cassie Scott, for an afternoon of gentle movement, guided meditation, and the intentional sound of crystal singing bowls, Himalayan bowls, chimes, an ocean drum and more. Begin the evening with gentle movement, allowing the body and nervous system time to settle into the space. From there, get comfortable on yoga mats with bolsters, yoga blocks, blankets, and lavender eye pillows, all provided. You’ll then be guided into meditation while surrounded by the intentional sounds. The evening will close with hot tea. No experience is necessary, movement is for all-levels and chairs/yoga props will be available. Space is intentionally limited to 14 participants to support a calm, small-group experience. Doors will close promptly, and you’re welcome to arrive early to settle in and create a comfortable space before beginning. All attendees will be asked to sign a liability waiver upon arrival.

MG3 is a youth and high school 3v3 basketball league at McMinnville High School for current 2nd through 11th grade players from McMinnville and nearby communities. School and club athletes can form teams at any experience level and compete in a player-driven setting that encourages exploration and growth without direct critique from adults or coaches. Fees are listed as $30 per player per team before the stated cutoff and $40 per player per team afterward. A lobster food truck will be serving in McMinnville with simple, contactless ordering and convenient pickup. Order ahead in the mobile app for day-of, posted events, then go straight to the pickup window at your selected time. The app typically opens a few hours before each truck event after the previous one finishes. Earn points toward free food by ordering through the app, or scan your app loyalty card at the window during checkout. If app ordering is limited or unavailable, orders are accepted directly at the truck. Payment is easy with all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Student Composer Concert

26th Annual UFO Festival

Back in 1950, McMinnville, Oregon captured national attention after a local couple saw a disc-shaped object over their farm. The buzz from that sighting swept the town and became part of its history. Half a century later the excitement returned, and this event draws on that legacy to highlight the UFO story that once put McMinnville in the headlines.

Close Encounters of the Third Vine

Kick off the UFO Festival with a wine tasting at McMenamins Hotel Oregon, set in the Hotel Oregon tent and paired with live music. Six local wineries will be pouring, with tastes from Edgefield Winery, WillaKenzie Estate, Abundancia Vineyards, Winter’s Hill Estate, Zē Wines, and Belle Pente Vineyard & Winery. Alien costumes are encouraged to add to the atmosphere. Attendees receive a raffle ticket at check in, and the winner takes home a pair of tickets to the UFO speaker event of their choice. After the tasting, head to Mattie’s Room for more live music. Tickets for this event are not included with the UAP Pass.

Year-End Choral Concert

Mark Earth Day and the close of the school year with a joyful choral program performed by the Linfield choirs, highlighted by a new composition from Music Department Chair William Campbell. Admission is free, and registration is available to secure a spot.

Baby & Me Peer Support Group

This ongoing peer support group offers a welcoming space for parents to speak openly about the highs and lows of pregnancy and the postpartum period. It focuses on listening, mutual support, and connection, helping participants build community with other parents who understand. The gathering is free and inclusive to all.

Day Trips - The Rice NW Museum of Rocks & Minerals

This day trip goes to Hillsboro for a visit to the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks & Minerals. The experience includes a guided tour that covers how rocks and minerals form.

The Art of The Journal

Participants will be inspired to keep a journal to play in regularly. The class includes friendly conversation, journal prompts, collage, and other fun writing or art activities in a relaxed environment. No prior experience is needed, and all supplies are included for this limited space event.

Speaker Presentation: Matt Syndagis

Professor Matthew Szydagis presents a science-focused talk at McMinnville Community Center that considers why non-human intelligence is a plausible topic for investigation. Spurred by the rapid growth in confirmed extrasolar planets now counted in the tens of thousands, the presentation examines evidence closer to home, including measured velocities, accelerations, energies, and fields. It addresses arguments from strong skeptics who contend that UAP research does not merit funding or attention, responding with analysis rooted in data. The discussion touches on alleged crash retrieval efforts and reported crash materials, and shares recent scientific results from the University at Albany SUNY and UAPx, also known as UAlbany Project X. Please note that pets are not permitted in the McMinnville Community Center, with service animals allowed.

26th Annual McMenamins UFO Fest

Inspired by a widely publicized 1950 McMinnville, Oregon sighting of a flying disc, this long-running celebration marks its 26th year. The program features talks from Jason Martell, Matthew Szydagis, Rebecca Charbonneau, Jeremy Corbell, Kelly Chase, and additional guests. Beyond the speaker lineup, activities include a street fair, a podcast recording, live music, the Landing Party, trivia, fun runs, costume contests, and the Alien Costume Ball, with more throughout the festival.

At McMinnville Community Center, investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell leads an in-depth conversation that aims to go beyond what is typically allowed in official testimony. 2026 May PNW PIG Chase

At Jaquith Park, this pickleball tournament is part of a series that awards prizes at the end of the series. Competition uses an all round robin format followed by playoffs. Age divisions will be finalized after registration closes, with plans to group players into under 50, 50 to 59, and 60 plus categories. Friday features Senior Women’s Doubles and Senior Men’s Doubles for participants 50 and older. Saturday focuses on Women’s Doubles and Men’s Doubles, and Sunday features Mixed Doubles. Play takes place outdoors on a tennis surface with 12 pickleball courts.

Jeremy Scott hosts a live conversation at McMenamins Hotel Oregon in McMinnville, the community known for the 1950 UFO sighting, as part of the 26th McMenamins UFO Fest. Explore local support and services for Carlton families at a community resource festival paired with a touch a truck experience. Children can get an up close look at the trucks and other vehicles that keep the neighborhood running, while adults connect with local organizations offering information and a helping hand. This family friendly gathering focuses on learning about available resources and meeting the people who provide them.

At McMinnville Community Center, researcher and storyteller Kelly Chase presents a talk that shifts the UFO conversation from objects in the sky to the people who report encounters. Drawing on historical cases, recent studies, and recurring patterns across sightings, contact accounts, and other anomalous events, she explores what truly defines an experiencer. The presentation asks whether witnesses are passive observers or participants in an interaction that connects consciousness, the material world, and meaning. It considers why many reports unfold through symbolism rather than literal details, and how such moments can reshape identity, beliefs, and a person’s sense of reality. Instead of offering simple conclusions, the talk suggests that contact may function more like an initiation than a straightforward visitation, and it presents a framework that places experiencers at the center of the UFO inquiry. Drawing from her book Mixed Signals: Alien Communication Across the Iron Curtain, she explains how global tensions shaped the scientific quest for life beyond Earth, and how that endeavor mirrored shared hopes and fears at a precarious moment in history. At the McMinnville Community Center, this popular ticketed festival session invites attendees to pose their biggest questions about UFOs, the paranormal, and alien life to a panel of featured speakers. Both skeptics and believers are welcome. Upon entering the auditorium, you will receive pens and note cards to write your questions, then place them in the box designated for the speaker you want to address. Space Alien Fun Run- 5k | Carrera divertida de extraterrestres espaciales

Celebrate an out-of-this-world theme with a space alien 5K at Joe Dancer Park. Costumes are encouraged, so break out your best extraterrestrial look and your running shoes. Jason Martell presents a talk at the McMinnville Community Center that investigates possible links between Akhenaten, the Egyptian pharaoh, and the Ark of the Covenant. The program explores parallels between Akhenaten and Moses, including whether they could have been the same person guided by beings from beyond Earth. It also considers the idea that the Ark has Egyptian origins and might have been used to power the Great Pyramid, sharing evidence and theories that suggest extraterrestrial involvement in ancient history and the development of civilization. At Serendipity Ice Cream, this sign up event invites local youth to register for Lemonade Day McMinnville, a free community program that helps kids plan, open, and run their own lemonade stand for a day. Youth who register at the event receive a coupon for a complimentary small ice cream cone. Organized locally by the McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce, the program teaches practical skills such as budgeting, marketing, customer service, goal setting, and money management. Each summer, participants across McMinnville and Yamhill County develop business plans, build their brand, and learn to divide their earnings by spending some, saving some, and sharing some. When Lemonade Day arrives, neighborhoods come alive with youth-run stands, offering the community a chance to support young entrepreneurs while kids gain confidence, financial literacy, and leadership experience. In recent years, hundreds of students have participated by launching dozens of stands across town, turning a simple idea into hands-on learning.

The second May gathering in this veteran-focused series brings everyone to Stumptown Taps in Newberg for conversation, camaraderie, and a relaxed evening. Created as a monthly space where veterans can connect and unwind, it features a taco bar provided by La Sierra Mexican Grill in Dundee. Veterans receive a complimentary dinner and one drink ticket, and guests are welcome and may share the meal with their veteran. To help plan the food order, attendees are asked to reserve tickets in advance. Hosted by VFW Post 4015 with support from the community, the emphasis is on fellowship, good food, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Spring Dance Showcase

Celebrate movement and expression as Linfield dancers take the stage in a collaborative program from the Department of Music and Linfield Theatre. 2026 Annual Meeting of the Pacific Northwest Region of the AAR

Botanical Keepsakes with Amanda Bayha

An interactive workshop where participants transform dried blooms, foliage, and other locally gathered plants into dimensional framed pieces or wearable art. The pace is calm and reflective, inviting a focus on capturing the feel of each season in lasting form. Led by Newberg based nature artist Amanda Bayha, founder of Soul Seeds since 2019 and an active presence at the Chehalem Cultural Center. Amanda refers to her method as "flower taxidermy", reviving castoff blossoms from neighborhood gardens and floral leftovers through careful drying and shaping. Her practice highlights sustainability, the allure of natural aging, and the restorative qualities of the outdoors. She also creates community centered installations, including a 12 foot tree made of dried flowers at Al's Garden & Home, that explore grief, growth, and renewal. Known for a "Snow White" approach to sourcing, she gathers flowers from across the community to tell the story of the local landscape.

WVMC Birthing Center offers families a monthly opportunity to access a range of no cost support designed to nurture children as they grow. Resources available include car seat clinics, details about childbirth classes, birthing center tours, the Bambinos diaper bus, and connections to community organizations. New services are featured regularly, and everything is free.

Private Baby Goat visit with Club EMU

Enjoy a private visit with playful baby goats at Portland Baby Goat Parties alongside Club Everyone, Me and U, a nonprofit social group that supports neurodivergent people ages 16 and up in the Portland metro area. Advance registration through Zeffy is required to participate. There is a $5 nonrefundable event fee, and scholarships are available upon request. If you typically prefer or need assistance, a support person must attend with you. Participants who are under 18 must have a parent or guardian actively attend with them. Wear clothing suited to a farm and changing weather, since goat snuggles can be messy. A farm waiver must be completed before arrival, and please review the event’s additional waiver as well. Guests are welcome to bring cut fresh fruits or vegetables, such as baby carrots, to feed the adult goats, but please do not bring anything that is overripe or spoiled. Baby chicks or ducklings are often on site to see and feed, and everyone is asked to be extra gentle around them and not pick them up. Signs on site will direct parking. By taking part, attendees agree to be respectful and uphold the group’s mission of acceptance, understanding, and kindness.

All supplies are included, and the experience is beginner friendly. The workshop is $60 per person, or $65 at the door depending on availability. Havana Nights - Annual CSLA Auction

Havana Nights brings C.S. Lewis Academy’s annual auction to life with online bidding leading up to a festive in-person finale at the Durant Vineyards Tasting Room. The evening celebrates the school with a Cuban inspired dinner, final winning bids, and added chances to compete for prizes throughout the night. 16th Annual Winemaker’s Dinner & Auction: Soirée Under the Stars

Now in its 16th year, this winemaker’s dinner and auction brings together community members and local businesses at Evergreen Events to raise funds that help students thrive in a high-quality Montessori setting. The evening highlights fine wine, engaging auctions, and a shared commitment to education. Participants can support the event in several ways. Sponsorships include Platinum at $1,500 with eight tickets, wine, raffle entries, prominent logo placement, social media promotion and additional perks, valued at over $1,830; Gold at $1,200 with six tickets, wine, raffle entries and social media promotion, valued at over $1,395; Silver at $750 with four tickets, wine, raffle entries and social media promotion, valued at over $880; and Bronze at $500 with two tickets, wine, raffle entries and social media promotion, valued at over $465. A Community Partner option at $250 is a direct contribution to MMS with the business logo featured on event marketing and social media. All contributions are tax deductible. Auction donations are also welcome, from unique experiences such as vacation stays or spa treatments to beverage partnerships, including The Case Exchange. Tickets are available at $170 for an individual and $320 for a pair, and there is an option to sponsor a teacher for $170 to send an MMS staff member.

Repair Fair - Mac Tool Library

A community-powered fix-it day returns with the second installment of this free Repair Fair, hosted by Mac Tool Library in partnership with Ricochet Wine Co at Ricochet Wine Company. Skilled volunteers team up with attendees to diagnose and repair small items, including clothing, bikes, small appliances, tools, pottery, jewelry, houseplants, and small plastic pieces. Service is first come, first served, with one item handled per person at a time. This is a hands-on experience rather than a drop-off, so plan to stay with your item. Only small items are accepted, not large appliances or furniture. While every effort is made, repairs are not guaranteed and may be limited by available time or parts, and kindness toward volunteers is appreciated. Completing a short item description form in advance helps the team prepare. If you have something out of the ordinary, send a message with details to check if it is a good match.

Feed Newberg 5k

This community 5K fundraiser benefits Feed Newberg Community Kitchen and centers on caring for people in body and soul. Registration is $35, and children under 10 can participate at no cost. A souvenir T-shirt is available for $10. Ninth Annual Poker Run/Adoption Event June 20th, 2026

The ninth annual poker run and pet adoption event raises funds for Many Miles Home Dog Rescue. Riders set out from Jem 100, with route details and stop locations shared at the start. The finish is at Willamette Mission State Park outside Salem, where an adoption fair, raffle, and barbecue take place, and anyone is welcome to attend the adoption activities without joining the run. Daddy- Daughter Stunt Clinic

A hands-on stunt clinic from Cheerology by MYC marks Father’s Day weekend, pairing dads or dad-like figures with their daughters to learn foundational cheer partner stunts in a supportive, high-energy setting. Designed for participants ages 4 and older. The fee is $50 per pair.

George Fox Football Youth Camp

Hosted at George Fox University, this youth football camp is led by college coaches. Participants focus on safety-first fundamentals and proper technique while staying active with outdoor drills that build skills.

H-Bomb Youth Athletic Workshop (June 23–25)

Local athletes can spend three days building confidence, improving movement, and staying active in a supportive youth athletic workshop. The program emphasizes strength, speed, and agility training, along with coaching that keeps energy high and encourages positive habits. Small groups allow for more individualized attention, and participants attend all three days. Leashed dogs are welcome, and participants are asked to clean up after their four legged friends. Proceeds support the Shanny Foundation in assisting school groups and student activities.
