Mountain Edge A&S Night

The Shire of Mountain Edge gathers in the Community Room at the McMinnville Public Library for a friendly Arts and Sciences session focused on creativity and conversation. Some meetings feature a structured class that introduces a new skill, while others provide open work time as members concentrate on their current projects. Common activities include sewing, weaving, leatherwork and more. It is a chance to connect with fellow Shire members, see works in progress, and ask questions about techniques or get help with a project. For safety and to respect library guidelines, projects involving hazardous materials such as metal work, lampworking, or acid etching are not permitted.

Book Blub at The Common Cup

A monthly book club gathers at The Common Cup for lively conversation around a shared read and a rotating theme. The Common Cup offers an evening menu for purchase that includes pizza by the slice, side salads, grilled sandwiches, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Each month’s genre is chosen by drawing from a jar. Participants suggest titles that fit the next theme, all suggestions go back into the jar, and one book is selected for the following discussion. A year list of genres is provided so there is plenty of time to brainstorm book ideas. Attendance is flexible, allowing people to drop in as schedules permit and keep up with the reading list even if a meeting is missed.
