Enjoy a free Disney Lorcana League focused on relaxed Core Constructed play with pin and promo support. Matches are played in rounds that are best of three. Players may use a starter deck or bring a custom build with at least 60 cards, a maximum of two inks, no proxies, and no more than four copies of any card sharing the same full name. Decks may be switched between rounds. Every participant receives a promo card while supplies last, with a random drawing for a Lorcana pin and additional random drawings for promo cards, also while supplies last. Reiki Level I&II Certification

Explore the healing art of Reiki in a combined Level I and II certification class. This training introduces Reiki as a Japanese practice for relaxation and stress relief that can encourage healing, with a focus on the gentle, hands-on flow of life force energy from practitioner to recipient. It can support self-care and care for loved ones, and it can also be shared as a professional practice. Participants receive attunement and step-by-step instruction to offer sessions to others, along with practical guidance on the logistics of a Reiki business. The course follows an accelerated, non-traditional format known as Hayashi Reiki Kenkyu-kai, allowing both levels to be completed together while omitting some material found in traditional programs. The class is led by Reiki Master Christy Forsyth of Clarity. A mid-day break is included so you can have lunch on your own or with classmates. A one-day visit from the People of Hope Museum brings a national traveling storytelling exhibit, presented by Catholic Charities USA, to St. Mary Our Mother Church in Chemung County. This mobile, immersive space features professionally recorded narratives from Catholic Charities staff and volunteers, paired with interactive audio and visual elements that encourage reflection on how everyday acts of kindness can shape lives. Visitors can listen, learn, connect, and add their own account of hope or service to a growing national collection. The presentation centers on compassion, service, and community through multimedia storytelling, and the exhibit is ADA compliant and open to all. It is recommended for ages 14 and older due to sensitive themes that include trauma and poverty, and parental discretion is encouraged. The museum will also appear in Rochester.

Disney Lorcana Weekly League

This free Disney Lorcana league centers on casual Core Constructed play with pin and promo support. Separate events are available for competitive play that include promos and added prize support. Each round is played as a best of three matches. Players may bring a ready to play starter deck or build their own with at least 60 cards, up to two inks, no proxies, and no more than four copies of any card sharing the same full name. Decks may be changed between rounds. Prize support includes a participation promo card for every player while supplies last, plus random drawings for a Lorcana pin and for additional promo cards, also while supplies last. To take part, each player needs a sixty card deck. Starter decks come preconstructed with a fixed list and are a helpful way for newcomers or anyone who wants to try a list created and tested by Team Lorcana to jump right in.

Central New York AGAPE & KCSP Caregiver Connection Live at Horseheads Family Resource Center

This free, in-person parent support group welcomes adoptive, foster, and kinship caregivers from across Central New York at the Horseheads Family Resource Center. It serves families in Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Madison, and Tompkins counties. Sessions are facilitated by CNY AGAPE and KCSP staff who bring lived experience as foster and adoptive parents and as an adult adoptee. Discussions explore understanding children’s behaviors, building parental resilience, addressing school challenges, supporting social and emotional needs, and considering therapeutic versus traditional parenting approaches. The group is intended for adult caregivers, though children may accompany their parents and play in the space, with HFRC staff available to assist with supervision. Parents may step away and return as needed to care for children. During the summer months, the center provides lunch for youth.

NY State Qualifier/Gold Cup Qualifier Weekend

A full weekend of BMX action brings both a State Qualifier and a Gold Cup Qualifier, beginning with Friday gate practice that offers separate sessions for riders 13 and under and for riders 14 and over. Preregistration is available on Friday through Facebook Messenger or in person during gate practice. Saturday features the State Qualifier with on-site registration and racing to follow. Sunday caps the weekend with the Gold Cup Qualifier, again with registration followed by racing. Fees are $5 per rider for gate practice, $25 for Class or Cruiser and $10 for Balance Bike on Saturday, and $35 for Class or Cruiser and $15 for Balance Bike on Sunday. All riders must register before entering the track and must display the event wristband secured to the left side of the helmet. Dogs are not permitted in reserved pit areas, though leashed dogs are allowed elsewhere in the park. Smoking is not allowed within Holding Point Recreation Park. Expect a busy parking lot and make sure riders wear helmets when moving between the track and pit spaces. Camping is not permitted. Pit space reservations will open closer to the event.

Grand Funk Railroad

Grand Funk Railroad brings its legendary American rock to the Mich Ultra Summer Stage at Tag’s, returning to the Twin Tiers with a show built on thunderous riffs, soulful vocals, and the driving rhythms that filled arenas for decades. CNY AGAPE and KCSP Caregiver Connection LIVE! for Chemung County

This free, in-person parent support group for adoptive, foster, and kinship families in Central New York meets at Higher Hope Church. It serves Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Madison, and Tompkins counties, with a location accessible for Chemung families. Sessions are facilitated by CNY AGAPE and Kinship (KCSP) staff who bring lived experience as foster parents, adoptive parents, and adult adoptees. While caregivers gather, a Youth Hangout Community Group takes place at the same time and in the same location so parents and kids can receive support together. Conversations center on understanding children’s behaviors, building caregiver resilience, navigating school issues, addressing social and emotional needs, and considering therapeutic approaches alongside traditional parenting strategies. The atmosphere focuses on compassion, connection, and shared growth, and the group meets monthly. A light meal is provided. Enrollment with AGAPE or KCSP is required for families.

The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler hosts its annual charity golf tournament at Willowcreek Golf Club in Big Flats. This four-person scramble includes check-in before a shotgun start, and the day concludes with awards and dinner. Players can expect prizes throughout the round, with on-course challenges such as putting, closest to the pin, and longest drive, plus raffles, a hole-in-one opportunity, skins, mulligans, and more. The tournament will take place regardless of weather.

Set out on a dinosaur-themed scavenger hunt through Eldridge Park. Ten dinosaur posters are tucked around the park, each with a secret code to record on an Answer Card. After collecting all ten codes, bring the completed card to the Hilliard Family Stage, where children can dig in the sand for one dinosaur egg with a surprise inside. Crafts and a Dinosaur Parade down the Midway round out a family-friendly day of prehistoric fun.

19th Annual Troop Ride

The 19th Annual Troop Ride is an approximately 100 mile motorcycle ride that benefits the USO at Fort Drum. The USO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides a welcoming space and support for troops and their families. Registration is $15 per person and includes a meal at the end of the ride. Participants who pre-register online receive a free Troop Ride t-shirt.

2nd annual Missy Love Memorial tournament

This competitive, friendly softball tournament in Horseheads, New York is open to all ages and features teams of any experience level. It raises funds for the Missy Love scholarship fund, which helps softball players attend college through scholarships. Help is available for players who need placement on a team. The goal is to surpass the previous fundraising total of $2,500, and 2024 winners included Harley Sullivan and Maddie Jerzak.
