CHQ DeadTALK

At Lakewood Memorial Library, Loretta Cheney leads an open conversation about death, a subject many avoid but everyone encounters. The gathering welcomes open and curious participants ready to share thoughts, questions, fears, and personal stories in a respectful setting. Guests are welcome to bring a beverage and an optional snack to share. This is not a grief or bereavement counseling session, though emotions may surface. Loretta is a member of the Seneca Nation, a certified K-12 art teacher, potter, certified meditation and mindfulness instructor, and a death doula. She describes herself as an Indian Cowgirl who embraces dreams, signs, miracles, and magic, and she brings a hopeful outlook rooted in her spiritual life.
