Women's Gravel Group Ride

This women-focused gravel group ride rolls out from Fort Lincoln Road. The planned route covers a little over 22 miles, mostly on gravel with a segment of pavement. Riders will stick together at a group pace so no one gets left behind, offering a friendly way to connect with other women who ride. Riders of any experience level are welcome. Helmets are required. BCBC Summer Series Round 4: Harmon Lake

Round 4 of the BCBC Summer Series brings racing to the quick, flowy singletrack at Harmon Lake. Riders who have already completed a waiver and have a number plate only need to check in, while those who have not should arrive early to sign a waiver and get set up. The B and C divisions will compete on a shortened course again. Series scoring counts the best five finishes for A divisions, the best four for B divisions, and the best three for the C division.

7th Annual Golf Tournament

The seventh annual golf tournament at Prairie West Golf Course in Mandan raises funds for Mandan football and boys' basketball, benefiting the Mandan Touchdown Club and the Larry Schafer Memorial Scholarships. The day begins with player check in and registration, followed by a shotgun start. Entry is $125 per golfer or $500 per team of up to four, and lunch is included. There will be door prizes, side games, and awards for hole contests. Sponsorships are available at $500 for a single hole or $900 for a team plus a hole. Space is limited. The North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum marks the launch of ND250 Road Trip: Our American Story with a ribbon-cutting to open the festivities. Attendees can enjoy light refreshments, live music by Mythtickle, face painting, Scouting America Pinewood Derby races, and conversations with agency curators, archivists, and community partners throughout the event. Created for the America250 commemoration, this free exhibition highlights North Dakota’s contributions to the nation through themes of travel, migration, innovation, and community, tracing connections that begin with stories from tribal nations in the 1770s. The experience is designed like a road trip through the past, present, and future, encouraging discovery of new stories and places across the state. Visitors can map out future travels, add personal reflections at a kiosk, look up longtime owners of Centennial Farms, and learn how to explore family roots. A genealogy area offers access to State Archives resources for anyone interested in tracing where their families were during key moments in American history. These programs are part of the ND250 commemoration recognizing the United States’ 250th anniversary.

Raging Rivers offers Tod Time, a dedicated session for children ages 0 to 8 with a supervising adult. During this time, guests can enter the park and play on the Aqua Play Unit with a smaller crowd, as the program takes place outside normal operating hours. Admission is $6 per person.

Learn practical ways to use AccuQuilt cutting to produce clean, consistent fabric shapes with minimal effort. The focus is on quick, accurate prep for quilting, sewing, and crafting projects, helping the creative process move smoothly from cutting to assembly.

Boundless Exhibit

At The Capital Gallery in downtown Bismarck, photographer Chad Ziemendorf shares a comprehensive visual chronicle of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library project in Medora. As the project’s official photographer, he pairs images with narrative text to trace the library’s development from the period before groundbreaking through completion. Visitors step into an immersive presentation of North Dakota Badlands photography set alongside story panels that detail the stages of creating the library. The exhibition, titled Boundless, extends the journey he has been documenting in his newsletter of the same name. Admission is free to the public, and there will be opportunities for tours, receptions, and other educational events throughout the run.

This session features Gateway to Science with a playful, on-stage exploration of science designed for kids. A car show takes over the North Dakota State Capitol with an easygoing, drive-in format. No preregistration is needed, and entry will be on the west side. Participants can look forward to music, food and other entertainment alongside plenty of standout vehicles. Entries are set to receive a unique, oversized dash plaque while supplies last, with quantities planned for well over 500 cars. A special display will feature decade-themed automobiles, plus representation from law enforcement and car clubs. Using nature inspired designs, participants will chalk a route that guides visitors between the two galleries for the Art in Bloom opening reception. There are 25 designated spaces that will be assigned in advance. The first 25 people to register will receive a professional sidewalk chalk set free of charge, made possible by a grant from the Dakota West Arts Council. Kayak the Missouri and Safety Training

Discover paddling skills and river awareness during a half-day, introductory kayaking session on the Missouri River. Enrollment is capped at 10 to keep instruction personal, and participants must be 18 or older. The group meets at Car Bodies Boat Ramp in Mandan, where parking is available, then shuttles upriver to Hoge Island for the put-in. The downstream paddle from Hoge Island takes about 1.5 hours. Lunch is provided on a sandbar during the outing, with a sandwich and chips, and there is time to ask instructors questions and connect with fellow paddlers. Some walking on an incline is part of the logistics, and registering confirms that participants are physically able to take part. By the end, paddlers learn to handle their boats with greater control, conserve energy on longer stretches, read the current to avoid common hazards, and feel ready to explore the river with friends and family.

The Cardio and Coffee Trail Running Series returns to Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, pairing a guided trail run with a tasting of freshly brewed specialty coffee. Each gathering explores a different route across the park’s scenic trails, then concludes at the Commissary with a short talk about the featured roast. Runs begin and end at the Commissary Gift Shop. Courses are unmarked, but route maps are provided and a park ranger leads the group with one or two brief stops to keep everyone together. Plan on roughly four miles at a moderate effort, and choose a pace that matches your comfort level. Participants of all ages are welcome. It is recommended that runners can comfortably complete a 5K without assistance and consult a healthcare professional before starting moderate exercise. Expect dirt and gravel surfaces, rolling elevation, and uneven footing. Trails are not stroller friendly. Wear supportive running shoes and bring water, especially in warm weather. Tod Time at Raging Rivers is a dedicated session for little ones and their adults. Children ages 0 to 8, accompanied by a supervising adult, can enjoy the Aqua Play Unit with access limited to this group outside the park’s usual operating hours. The fee is $6 per person.

Tap-In Tavern Away Game Watch Party

Larks fans can come together at Tap-In Tavern to cheer on the team during an away matchup with the Minot Hot Tots. The rivalry game is the focus of a watch party filled with Larks themed fun and team spirit.

9TH ANNUAL MUD VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

Get ready to play in the mud at a co-ed volleyball event with six-person teams. The team entry fee is $150, and pre-registration is available. Wearing older clothes and shoes is recommended since things can get messy. Attendees may bring coolers, and volunteers from MOL will be grilling burgers and hot dogs on site. There will be adoptable dogs and a cooler auction, with all proceeds benefiting dog rescue efforts. For more information, contact Bridget at 701-321-2051. BAGA's Annual Capital A'Fair

Hosted by the Bismarck Art & Galleries Association, this annual summer art fair fills the North Dakota State Capitol grounds with original artwork, food, and live entertainment. Attendees will find more than one hundred artists offering painting, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and other handmade pieces. The setting includes a wide range of food vendors along with live music and performances. Families can explore interactive art activities, including a dedicated kids area with entertainment throughout the event. Admission is free for all attendees. Vendors are advised to ignore unsolicited comments that claim to offer booth space, since official applications and communication are managed directly by BAGA.

Paint Sculpting Class with Linda Donlin

Artist Linda Donlin leads a class on the foundations of her signature technique, often called “paint sculpting” by her fans. Using her recommended boutique paints and a palette knife, participants learn to layer paint to build texture and dimension while working with sunflowers as the subject. Please bring gloves and a small palette knife. All other supplies are provided. The class fee is $50 for BAGA members and $55 for non-members. Online registration is available.

Inflatables in the Campground

This family-friendly gathering features colorful inflatable play areas in the campground and cheerful kiddie train rides that circle the site. The scenic park setting offers space to relax while kids jump and go down slides for high-energy fun. Admission is free with an ND State Parks Annual Pass, or a $7 vehicle registration at the park entrance. An annual pass can be purchased at the park or online. Sponsored by Friends of Fort Lincoln.

SPARK at the library- morning session

SPARK offers simple, play-based activities and resources for children ages 0 to 5 and their caregivers, presented by Mandan Little Learners. Each gathering features a shared story and hands-on play designed to encourage imagination and build social skills. Please register in advance when possible so supplies can be prepared. Adults are expected to attend with their children and participate throughout the program. Drop offs are not allowed.

Lights Out - Stars Out

Lights Out - Stars Out brings stargazers together at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park’s Cavalry Square and Parade Ground for a guided look at the night sky. Visitors can settle in early to find a good vantage point and watch the sky shift from dusk to darkness. A partial lunar eclipse will be visible with peak obscuration near 94 percent. During this celestial event, Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow that can appear reddish orange, often called a Blood Moon. Park staff and members of the Bismarck Astronomy Club will help participants use telescopes, spot constellations, identify planets, and examine lunar craters. Telescopes and binoculars are available, and personal equipment is welcome. Red-light flashlights are recommended to preserve night vision, and regular flashlights should be kept on a low beam. All ages are welcome. Restrooms are available in the Commissary building adjacent to the parade ground. Admission is free with a North Dakota State Parks Annual Pass, or available with a per-vehicle fee at the park entrance. Annual passes can be purchased at the park or online. The schedule is subject to change.

Set within a gothic visual setting, this concert reimagines well known rock favorites with a dark, dramatic energy and a presentation that is uniquely its own. The Rock Orchestra has presented more than 400 shows in four years and has welcomed over 500,000 attendees, growing into a fixture for rock audiences around the world. Par for Paws Golf Scramble - Apple Creek

A community-minded golf scramble at Apple Creek Country Club pairs a day on the course with support for local animal rescues. Participants can look forward to a boxed lunch, two drink carts serving the course, and a steak supper to wrap up the event. Proceeds benefit Purrfect Pound Pals, Kitty City, Coal Country Animal Rescue, and Central Dakota Humane Society. Check in time may change, with updates shared closer to the event.
