Families Around the World
Now in its seventh year, this annual gathering celebrates the cultural diversity that shapes the community. Families and local organizations come together with cultural and community displays, hands-on activities, and a variety of ethnic foods that encourage sharing and learning. Enjoy Gaelic stories and music with Debi Rogers, try line dancing with the Nodak Stompers, and explore more experiences that highlight the vibrant heritage of Bismarck Mandan. Hosted at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library in the Children’s Library and the Main Floor Atrium. Admission is free for all ages, and media are welcome. Presented in partnership with the Bismarck Library Foundation, Inc., and the Friends of the Bismarck Public Library.

Social dance enthusiasts of any experience level can explore the fundamentals of ballroom dancing at Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library, Meeting Room A. An experienced instructor from Northern Plains Dance will guide participants step by step through lead and follow, basic footwork patterns, and musicality in popular styles such as Foxy Sway, Two Step, Rumba, East Coast Swing, and Salsa. No partner is required. This program is free and open to all ages, and members of the media are welcome to attend.

A welcome home celebration honors military veterans returning on trip 9 of their Flight of Honor. Attendees are encouraged to bring handmade signs and balloons, wear patriotic attire, and wave flags to help create a warm greeting for the veterans. Plan to arrive early or come with a group, since parking can fill quickly.
