Participants learn to recognize warning signs, understand the impact of violence, and use the MHFA Action Plan. The training also covers how to support peers by involving trusted adults, while addressing stigma and fostering hope for recovery. Participants are then led through breathwork practices to connect with the body and release stored emotions and stagnant energy, followed by a calming sound bath to support deep relaxation. Targets range from very close distances out to 49 yards, and the course design includes an X-count stage along with several challenging field stages. If you already have up-to-date proof for one of the services, bring the documentation to opt out of that part of the package. Deviled Egg Cook Off!

Brown Derby Pub hosts the third annual deviled egg cook off in support of Adoption First Animal Rescue. Competitors can enter for $20 and choose either the traditional or spicy category. A spring agriculture and tack swap meet hosted by Wyatt Ranch takes place rain or shine, bringing together buyers and sellers of farm-focused goods. This is a community flock swap that takes place on the second Saturday of every month. Spaces are $10 and are assigned on a first come, first served basis. Participants must provide water and shade, as well as a proper crate or carrier for animals to travel home, with large animals excluded from the carrier requirement. Animals may not be kept in cardboard boxes. Sick, injured, or underage animals are not allowed. Cats and dogs are not permitted.

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a hands-on candle making workshop presented by Angsty Libra Candle Co. Sip a nonalcoholic mocktail, sample more than 30 fragrance options, and learn how to blend a custom scent to pour into your own 7 oz candle. Participants can enjoy refreshments, complete the full pouring process, and take home their finished candle the same day. Build essential motorcycle skills through a beginner-friendly course that combines a self-paced online eCourse with two range sessions at New River Harley-Davidson. A community launch introduces Care Out Loud: Onslow Mental Health Matters, an effort focused on bringing mental health into everyday conversation and making services in Onslow County easier to find and navigate. From Integrated Family Services and the Onslow Victims Center, the gathering brings together local organizations, wellness providers, advocates, and community partners at the Jacksonville Recreation Center to connect residents with support, spark meaningful dialogue, and spotlight resources already available in the community. Attendees can explore mental health information and community groups, visit wellness and self care stations, enjoy youth and family activities, meet local vendors offering giveaways, and experience live music and entertainment from Wingo, Elijah Harris Band, and Dream Entertainment alongside food trucks and popular local offerings. The program also provides an early look at the Onslow Mental Health Resource Guide, created to help residents quickly identify and connect with services across the county. The aim is to open up conversations, simplify access to help, and foster a community where reaching out for support feels comfortable.
