A peer support session at dRC centers on sharing joy through peace rock painting. Spend time creating vibrant, positive designs, unwinding, and connecting with others. Each finished rock could offer a bit of encouragement to someone who needs it.
Onslow County Public LibraryCentury Club Meeting - Open to All
This quarterly Century Club meeting focuses on supporting the athletics program at Dixon High School. Open to parents, alumni, and community members, it offers an overview of current initiatives, ways to enhance the experience of student athletes, and options for contributing support. Attendees can stay for the full discussion or visit briefly to gather information. The meeting takes place in the high school cafeteria.
Mental Health First Aide
Created for teens, this Mental Health First Aid training builds skills to notice when a friend might be struggling and to respond with care and confidence. It explores anxiety and depression, eating disorders, bullying and the influence of social media, substance use, and ADHD. Participants learn to recognize warning signs, understand the impact of violence, and use the MHFA Action Plan. The training also covers how to support peers by involving trusted adults, while addressing stigma and fostering hope for recovery. The goal is to equip young people to look out for one another and strengthen the well-being of their community.
