Awakened Soul Sound Bath

Awakened Soul Sound Bath is an immersive sound meditation created by Soul Sister Magic to encourage deep rest, gentle healing, and a renewed sense of calm. Known for fostering inclusive, sacred spaces, Soul Sister Magic invites participants to reconnect with themselves and with community in a setting that feels safe and supportive. Facilitators Jeanne Ann and Philippa offer intuitive soundscapes and soft guidance within an enveloping field of sound, encouraging a shift into quieter mind states and relaxed awareness. A sound bath is a form of meditation in which layers of sound wash over participants. Crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, vocal toning, drums, gongs, chimes, nature-inspired textures, and other resonant instruments create soothing vibrations that ease the nervous system, release tension, and support emotional and energetic balance. Many people notice clearer focus, deeper relaxation, expanded awareness, the release of stored stress, enhanced intuition, and more ease in mindfulness as mental chatter gives way to steadier peace. Expect a serene arrival, time to get comfortable with mats, blankets, and pillows, and an opening moment to set personal intentions. The room then fills with harmonies from crystal bowls, gongs, and complementary instruments, with occasional guest musicians. The experience concludes with a gentle return and quiet space for reflection, journaling, or connecting with others in a heart-centered atmosphere. Comfortable, loose clothing is recommended. Bringing a water bottle, yoga mat, blanket, and a pillow adds comfort, and some mats and blankets are available at the venue. A journal can be helpful for post-session notes. Arriving early allows time to settle in and ground before the journey begins.

Plein Air Techniques

Adults are invited to explore outdoor painting in a four-part series led by local artist Amanda Bielby. Held in the Missoula neighborhood, each workshop meets at a location selected by the instructor, and participants may attend the full series or choose individual sessions. The curriculum blends watercolor and soft pastel with an emphasis on creativity, nature, and working directly from the landscape. One session focuses on building watercolor underpaintings and creating homemade sanded pastel paper to support layered color and stronger compositions. Another develops color choices by starting with grayscale studies, experimenting with triads, and painting the same scene in multiple variations to refine a limited, travel friendly palette. A watercolor session emphasizes loose, impressionistic studies that can be completed quickly and used as finished pieces or as underpaintings, and for that day supplies are provided. The final class centers on swift, simplified pastel landscapes that prioritize essential shapes and efficient workflow, a helpful approach for artists aiming to work light and fast in the field.

Drawing Animals - Youth Class

Young artists ages 6 to 12 explore animal drawing in a four class series that builds from simple shapes to more refined studies of texture and anatomy. Participants practice turning circles, squares, and other geometric forms into lively creatures, then learn how fur, feathers, and distinctive features bring each subject to life. Surprise visits from special guests, possibly of the two legged and four legged variety, may add inspiration. With small groups and dedicated ZACC instructors, lessons are tailored to the students present so beginners and more experienced kids can grow at a comfortable pace. The focus is on a safe, encouraging studio environment where creativity and confidence develop together. Price is $115.

2026 Treasure State Superdraft

A coed slowpitch softball superdraft brings individual players together at Fort Missoula Regional Park for a full weekend of drafted-team play. Everyone signs up solo, gets selected to a balanced roster, and competes with that same squad throughout. Women are spread evenly across teams, every player hits and takes the field in each game unless injured, and positions are flexible so managers can set lineups anywhere on the diamond. Registration includes a four game guarantee, custom home and away full-dye sublimated jerseys by GS Sports, and a kickoff gathering where jerseys are handed out. Expect to meet players from around Montana, other parts of the United States, and Canada, with prizes on the line and a team Calcutta adding extra excitement. The festivities begin with optional batting practice with softballs provided, then a player kickoff and jersey pickup alongside skills challenges, including men’s and women’s home run derbies plus pitching and throwing contests, with cash prizes available. A tournament headquarters operates during play with raffles, contests, and foul ball bracelets for purchase. Competition starts with round robin games at Fort Missoula Regional Park, a blind draw sets the bracket, and bracket play continues through to a championship game. A tournament photographer documents the action, winning teams and an MVP receive awards, and Team Speed Goats, which use unlimited runners, receive special swag. The Calcutta auction is open to both participants and spectators, all teams are auctioned, there is no cap on how many teams someone can buy, and friends are welcome to pool bids. Capacity is limited.

Heroes at Home BBQ & VSAP

At the Rocky Mountain Museum of Military History, VSN presents an annual community gathering that honors hometown heroes and remembers the service and sacrifice of military members. The day features a barbecue with complimentary food, live music performances, a community resource fair, a silent auction, and the Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention run, walk, or ruck. Montana faces a particularly high rate of veteran suicide, and this effort raises awareness, brings people together to honor those lost, and shows veterans as well as their friends, families, and caregivers that support is available and they are not facing this alone. An opening ceremony includes remarks from VSN leadership, a prayer and the national anthem, a three round volley by the honor guard, and a VSAP presentation. The museum hosts an open house, indoor restrooms are closed and portable restrooms are available outside. Complimentary food is offered while supplies last. Family friendly activities for children, live music, the resource fair, and the silent auction run throughout the event. VSAP awards are presented. Tabling is available to Military and Veteran Service Providers, Veteran Friendly Employers, and Veteran Owned Businesses that bring their own canopy, table, and chairs, with setup around the perimeter rather than on the lawn. The silent auction accepts donated items and provides donation receipts, and donations in support of VSAP are also accepted.
