La Verona at The MarketplaceSister Cities All-Lanes Meeting: Six Months In
Six months after a handful of table-side conversations sparked the St. Louis–Galway Sister Cities effort, this first all-lanes gathering brings participants together at Boundary at The Cheshire to connect across every lane. In the months since, meetups at Joe’s Cafe, McGurk’s, and The Royale have helped build relationships in St. Louis and Galway, working groups have formed in education, arts, music, business, and visual arts, and support has come from the Irish Consulate as a larger framework takes shape. The agenda centers on recapping progress, hearing updates from each lane, and coordinating next steps toward a shared vision for 2027. The evening starts with a friendly social hour with appetizers, then shifts into the main program. This event is hosted by Steve O’Loughlin and LHM in support of the continuing growth of the initiative.
Events at Boundary at the Cheshire“Above the Sound” Opening
An exhibition opening presents Mary Eden’s newest body of work, a cross-sensory exploration of feeling through expansive fields of color. Drawing on the memory of water, the pieces shape texture and layer evocative tones to create experiences that feel both uncertain and familiar. The evening also features Tony Pupillo spinning records, live music by the Fred Tompkins Quartet with Fred Tompkins, Greg Mills, Glen 'Papa' Wright, and Jim Hegarty, plus a trio with Tony Pupillo, Alberto Patiño, and Danny Pankratz. Drinks will be available by donation, and admission is free.
Dissonant WorksGNO Rides
An inclusive weekly group ride, made possible by volunteer members of the South Side Cycling Club and South Side Cyclery, welcomes riders of varied experience levels. The ride departs from South Side Cyclery. Participants are encouraged to arrive early so bikes and gear are ready, and anyone needing help getting a bike ride-ready should visit the shop no later than the day before. All riders must check in and complete a waiver. Helmets and bike lights are mandatory. Several pace options are offered to match comfort and goals. A beginner-friendly group focuses on enjoying the ride rather than an average speed, aiming for up to 10 miles in about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Party Pace typically averages 12 to 13 mph over roughly 15 miles. The intermediate group targets 14 to 15 mph for about 20 miles. The advanced group rides 16 mph or faster for approximately 30 miles. Routes change from week to week to provide a range of safe options across parts of St. Louis City and County suited to each group’s ability.
