(Tentative) BBMJ Open Play & Guided Play for our students
Due to a potential scheduling conflict, the status of this session will be confirmed during the week of the event. Taking place in Community Room B at The Library Center, it offers open play and guided play centered on mahjong. Tiles will be provided, and participants can bring their card if they have one. Priority at the tables goes to Mahjong 101 students and guided play participants, while there should still be space for many others. All experience levels are welcome, as long as attendees already know how to play or have completed Mahjong 101. Those brand new to the game can look for beginner class dates in the events listings. The library permits outside food and drinks, which is handy if you plan to grab lunch on the way.
The Library CenterMini - Fig painting
Enjoy a fun figure painting session focused on miniatures. Ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to paint minis or has unpainted figures ready for some color. All the necessary supplies are provided, with low or no fees.
Farmer's Market
Plant lovers can explore an after-school farmer’s market in the AgAcademy greenhouse and courtyard, featuring student-grown produce and homemade goods. Expect a variety of items such as farm fresh eggs, houseplants, vegetable plants, loofah soap, microgreens, hydroponic lettuce, and freeze-dried goods. Purchases are cash only, and every buy supports student learning while sending shoppers home with fresh, student-raised products.
Springfield Spanish 04/27/2026
Gather in the coffee shop inside the Fairbanks School for a welcoming Spanish conversation meetup. Speakers and learners of every level come together to practice speaking in a relaxed setting. The focus is conversation using Spanish learned elsewhere, and there is no formal instruction. Bring a dictionary or translation app if helpful. You are welcome to bring your own beverage and a snack to share, and feel free to invite friends.
