COMO Christian Marriage Conference

Couples navigating the fast pace of work, parenting, and daily pressures will find focused time to reconnect at Forum Christian Church during a two-day experience centered on the theme Chosen. The COMO Christian Marriage Conference offers Gospel-focused teaching, meaningful conversations, laughter, and practical ideas that can be applied at home to strengthen a marriage. Don and Sue Wilson serve as the main speakers. They met at Manhattan Christian College and have been married since 1968. Known as the founding pastors of Christ’s Church of the Valley in Phoenix, they led there for 35 years as the church expanded to multiple campuses with a large weekly attendance. After retiring from local church leadership, they continued investing in others through Accelerate and now through M 4:19, helping believers listen for God’s direction. Across the weekend, the schedule includes three main sessions built around the theme, interactive workshops led by trusted couples from the community, time for open reflection, conversation, and prayer, and practical tools that build connection, communication, and intimacy. The content offers encouragement for every season of marriage, from newlyweds to couples who have been together for many years, emphasizing that marriage matters to God, to families, and to the example couples set.

The Creek Rocks

A free concert spotlights The Creek Rocks, an Ozarks folk group led by banjoist Cindy Woolf and guitarist Mark Bilyeu. Longtime collaborators, the pair worked together on three albums of Cindy’s original songs beginning in 2005, married in 2013, and launched The Creek Rocks in 2015. Mark co-founded the Ozarks family band Big Smith and spent 16 years touring and recording with them. Their debut release as The Creek Rocks, Wolf Hunter, features 16 Ozarks folk songs drawn from the collections of folklorists Max Hunter of Springfield, Missouri, Mark’s hometown, and John Quincy Wolf of Batesville, Arkansas, where she grew up. In performance, Cindy’s distinctive vocals and original songwriting meet Mark’s signature guitar style and wordplay as they present Ozark-inspired originals alongside fresh arrangements of traditional tunes that range from lighthearted hill songs to haunting ballads from the dark holler. The duo received the 2024 Artist in Resonance Fellowships from the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and are researching song collector Sidney Robertson Coswell and her 1936 to 1937 trip to Missouri and Arkansas. A musical project based on this research is expected to be released this year. Closer Than Ever

Closer Than Ever is a two-act musical revue without dialogue, created by Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire. Each song stands alone and introduces a new character, weaving stories about security, aging, midlife crises, second marriages, the dynamics of working couples, and unrequited love. Together these pieces open the door to the writers' songbook while revealing the inner lives of people facing familiar, everyday challenges. Directed by Jennifer Black Cone.

COMO Christian Marriage Conference Refresh

This follow-up gathering invites couples to keep living out what it means to be chosen by God and by one another long after the main conference. About a month later, couples come back together to revisit core teachings from the main speakers and consider how those lessons are shaping daily married life. In small groups, participants share what they have put into practice, where choosing each other has brought growth, where it has been difficult, and how God is inviting them forward. There is also unhurried time for private conversation, giving spouses space to reconnect, clarify priorities, choose rhythms that nurture closeness, and renew simple, faithful commitments. The focus is not on adding more, it is on staying with what matters most. It offers a chance to recalibrate, be encouraged, and continue building a marriage rooted in God’s call and everyday choices.
