An in-person Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course at The Marsh offers a supportive, skills-focused approach to managing stress and strengthening well-being. The program features an orientation, eight weekly classes, and a full-day weekend retreat. Participants receive guided instruction in mindfulness meditation, gentle stretching and mindful yoga, and take part in group dialogue that connects the practices to everyday life. Daily home practice is encouraged and supported with downloadable audio recordings included with registration. More than four decades of research associate MBSR with increased self-awareness and improvements in attention and emotional regulation, as well as reductions in symptoms linked to stress, anxiety and depression, chronic pain, and hypertension. Facilitators are Mariann Johnson and Chance York. This course is approved by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching for 28.5 continuing education units.
The MarshWirth on Wednesdays Mountain Bike Race Series: Week 2
Week two of the Wirth on Wednesdays mountain bike race series brings riders to The Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Park. The course area features approachable singletrack like Conundrum, Area 36 and 45 North, connected by the paved Grand Rounds, Theodore Wirth Parkway and Luce Line trail network. The series spans six Wednesdays, with select nights hosted by groups such as Handup Racing and Loppet Cycle Works. One week focuses on Women and Non-Binary participants, welcoming those who identify as Women, Non-Binary, Trans Women and Gender Expansive, while kids races that week remain open to all children. Expect a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of time on some of the area’s most accessible trails.
Wednesday Night Group Ride at Gear West
Regular group rides are back at the Gear West parking lot, located between the Alpine and Nordic shops. Cyclists of every ability are welcome, and each participant must stop inside the store to complete a season waiver before rolling out. Two pace groups are available. The A group targets an average speed above 19 mph for roughly 30 miles, while the B group aims for about 16 to 18 mph and offers an option to shorten the route. Helmets are required and lights are recommended. Riders are expected to know the routes so they can navigate if they need to stop for adjustments or become separated from the group.

This tournament features the Standard format with Swiss rounds followed by a top cut. Entry is $15. The winner earns a box of their choice, a Vanguard Day playmat, and a promo pack. The event features adoptable dogs and cats on site, and select animals may be able to go home the same day. Tuesday Nite Time Trials
Change up your riding week with a timed 10 mile ride that lets you push hard and see improvement as the season progresses. All experience levels are welcome, and you do not need a dedicated time trial bike. Road bikes and TT bikes are both permitted. Online registration is required, there is no on-site registration, and registration closes 24 hours before each race. Entry is $25 per event. The course runs along County Road 24 on an open route with regular traffic, so ride predictably and stay alert around vehicles. Tail lights are encouraged. Drafting is not allowed. Keep about two bike lengths apart while waiting to start and give wide, safe passes when overtaking other riders. Check-in takes place outside in the back parking lot at Woodridge Church, with parking available there, and riders are asked to pedal to the start and finish area. Restrooms at the church will not be available, so plan ahead. Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver, and anyone under 15 must ride with a companion on the course. Every race entry also serves as a ticket in a drawing for a free pair of Julbo sunglasses at Gear West, with the winner announced after the series concludes. Results and weather cancellations will be posted on the Gear West Facebook page.

Everyone works on the same puzzle, kept hidden until a countdown begins, then boxes are opened and the clock is on. A judge tracks progress and records finish times. When a team completes its puzzle, participants may head out or stick around to enjoy more puzzling and a drink. Top finishers receive prizes, there are additional door prizes, and every team keeps the puzzle used in competition. Eating and drinking are allowed during the contest. Box top holders and sorting trays are permitted. Extra lighting is fine if it is not plugged in and does not affect other teams. Do not distract or interfere with other competitors. Seating includes a mix of standard tables and high tops, with some shared and others set for single teams. A casual warm up with practice puzzles is available before the main contest. Competition is organized into AA, A, BB, and B divisions, and top finishers in each division take home cash awards. Prize totals vary based on overall entries for the year, and the previous edition distributed close to $10,000 and featured seven separate playoff flights.

All trail-legal bicycles are welcome, including e-bikes, road, mountain, gravel, city, recumbent, fixies, cargo bikes, trikes, tandems, hand-cycles, fat bikes, and time trial bikes. The ride moves at an easy 10 to 12 mph with regroup stops so everyone can stay together, and it will be supported by a lead, a sweep, and a couple of riders assisting at road crossings. The route sets out from Tonka Cycle & Ski, starts with a short stretch on the Nine Mile Creek Trail, then links to the Minnesota River Bluffs Trail to The Depot. It continues along the Cedar Lake Trail, briefly connects with the Midtown Greenway, then follows the Kenilworth Trail to the North Cedar Trail, passing under Target Field to reach the West Mississippi River Trail. After a group photo stop, the group returns along the North Cedar Trail to the Luce Line, crossing the new bridge over the Linden Yard to reach Utepils. From there, it follows paths along Glenwood Avenue and Theodore Wirth Parkway back to the North Cedar Trail, heads toward Hopkins, and finishes with a short on-road segment to LTD Brewing. Planned stops include Steel Toe Brewing for a pint or two and a food truck, a photo with the Grain Belt sign on West River Road, Utepils Brewing for another round and a food truck, and an afterparty at LTD Brewing with a food truck at the brewery or plenty of choices along Mainstreet. Participants can ride the full route or meet up at any stop, and they are free to leave at any point that works for them. Riding to the start is encouraged, and driving is also an option. Parking is available in a public lot near the finish at LTD Brewing, with additional street and public lots nearby, or at Tonka Cycle & Ski. A post with parking details will be shared closer to the ride. Please bring a lock to secure your bike at each stop.

At Table Top Tournaments, this OPTCG OP17 prerelease features sealed play across three Swiss rounds. Entry is $40. Each participant opens six OP17 packs, has 50 minutes to build a 40 card deck, then begins the tournament. Every player also receives an OP17 prerelease participation card and a prerelease promo pack. First place earns at least one OP17 prerelease event winner card, and players collect one OP17 pack for every match victory.

After that, the space opens for unstructured movement and exploration with soft play equipment and toddler sized bounce houses, offering a safe setting to get the wiggles out. With the Red Knights MN4 taking part, the schedule begins with registration alongside breakfast and coffee, continues with a scenic ride that includes one stop, and then returns to the venue for food and drinks, a silent auction, games, and a performance by the Jason Paulson Band. Open to both riders and non-riders and welcoming to families, friends, and neighbors, the event offers plenty of ways to get involved. Donations are also accepted from those who cannot attend. The Second Annual Strut For Mutts brings animal lovers, adopters, and advocates together for Rescue Network’s signature fundraising walk and run at the Plymouth Hilde Performance Center in Minnesota. This uplifting community gathering celebrates second chances and raises vital support for expanding rescue efforts, with every step on an almost 3K course helping to provide medical care, shelter, and placements in loving homes. In 2025 the organization achieved more than 2,000 adoptions and covered over one million in veterinary expenses, and expectations for 2026 are even higher as more animals are saved, more fosters are recruited, and more lives are changed. Participants may walk in memory of a beloved pet or in celebration of an adopted companion. Dogs that are not aggressive toward people or other animals are welcome, provided they are current on vaccinations and kept on a non-retractable leash at all times. Fundraising is built into registration, with a personal fundraiser created automatically and a default goal of 200 dollars that can be adjusted. Agreement to meet a minimum is required, though there is no penalty if it is not met. Reaching 200 dollars earns a race fee refund. At 300 dollars, the race fee is refunded and a complimentary item from the merchandise stand is included, such as shirts, bags, stickers, or a Shasta Stuffie. At 400 dollars, those rewards remain and the participant may name a future dog or cat. At 500 dollars or more, all previous rewards apply and the participant may name a future litter of puppies or kittens.
