Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Summer Sessions First Class: In-Person Wed. Afternoons

An in-person Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction course at The Marsh offers a supportive, skills-focused approach to managing stress and strengthening well-being. The program features an orientation, eight weekly classes, and a full-day weekend retreat. Participants receive guided instruction in mindfulness meditation, gentle stretching and mindful yoga, and take part in group dialogue that connects the practices to everyday life. Daily home practice is encouraged and supported with downloadable audio recordings included with registration. More than four decades of research associate MBSR with increased self-awareness and improvements in attention and emotional regulation, as well as reductions in symptoms linked to stress, anxiety and depression, chronic pain, and hypertension. Facilitators are Mariann Johnson and Chance York. This course is approved by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching for 28.5 continuing education units.
