CommasAdvance Screening: ROSE OF NEVADA + Q&A w/ filmmaker Mark Jenkin
An advance screening at AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center features ROSE OF NEVADA followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Mark Jenkin. Set in a neglected coastal village, the tale unfolds when a trawler thought lost with its crew three decades earlier reappears in the harbor. Believing the vessel must sail again to restore the community’s fortunes, the townspeople send it back to sea. Nick, played by George MacKay, signs on to support his young family, while newcomer Liam, portrayed by Callum Turner, joins to leave his past behind. After a successful voyage, the crew returns to a startling discovery as time has shifted and they are welcomed as if they were the original sailors. The film is not rated.
