New to Mah Jongg or getting back into the game after some time away? Monday afternoon beginner open play provides a relaxed, friendly space to practice American Mah Jongg with other newer players. These sessions are for participants who already understand the rules, and there is no formal instruction. Please bring your own Mah Jongg sets and National Mah Jongg League cards. Tables and chairs are provided.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the 2026 HBRACC Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build marks the start of construction on this year’s Blitz Build home. HBRACC members, sponsors, community partners, and representatives from Habitat for Humanity come together to launch a meaningful build. The program includes a blessing of the land, remarks from HBRACC leadership and Habitat for Humanity, and words from a past Blitz Build participant who is now a Habitat homeowner, culminating in the ceremonial groundbreaking. Light refreshments will be available after the program. This milestone occasion celebrates the first step toward building a home and strengthening the community.

An Evening of Photography and Reflection with Sean Palfrey

Photographer and physician Sean Palfrey presents a new series of photography books titled Home, Wander, Imagine, Dance, and Promise. The program opens with an introduction to his work, travels, and publications, then moves into a guided conversation where attendees reflect on selected photographs as he shares images and the short writings he pairs with them. Palfrey has been creating and exhibiting color photographs in Massachusetts and across the United States for 45 years. Alongside his artistic practice, he is a pediatrician, professor of medicine and public health, and dean, and he has supported health services in other countries following natural disasters. Early in his career he explored single and multiple exposures, first with a medium format Pentax 6x7 and later with Nikon digital cameras, and his color multiple exposures are composed entirely in camera rather than on a computer. He is publishing a six-volume collection that combines photographs with brief musings, with five volumes already available in bookstores and on Amazon.

Helping our Herring: The Story of Fish Passage Improvements on Town Brook in Plymouth

Explore how river herring in Plymouth’s Town Brook have responded since aging dams were removed from their migration path. Abigail Archer and Grace Simpkins from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Sea Grant will present findings from six years of fish tagging and tracking. Attendees will also be invited to share feedback on a new interactive activity for middle school students about river herring migration, helping refine it for classrooms in Plymouth and across Cape Cod.

Big Blue Conference 2026

An annual industry gathering focused on the health and resilience of Cape Cod and the broader Blue Economy takes place at Falmouth High School in Massachusetts. This year's program centers on linking ocean-based industries with sustainability, emphasizing the relationship between blue and green economic systems. Day one features a keynote from John Pappalardo, CEO of the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance, who will share his perspective on connecting these spheres through the "Aqua Economy." Day two is presented in partnership with the Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative and concentrates on climate impacts, mitigation, and action across coastal and marine regions. Throughout the conference, the expo includes a community mural led by Jackie Reeves, an AFCC artist of the year, opportunities to write letters to the environment with Boston artist Rajji Desai alongside her postage stamp themed series, chances to make small take-home creations, and time to connect with businesses and organizations working across blue and green sectors. Participants may choose to attend one day or both.

Ease into a relaxed, social introduction to Mah Jongg at AMIE Bakery, designed for true beginners and anyone seeking a fresh foundation. This two-session Lunch & Learn pairs step-by-step teaching with a laid-back lunch break so participants can order, unwind, and practice new skills in a welcoming setting. The Important Role of Nobska Light in “A Home in Woods Hole: Life and History on Eel Pond”

At Falmouth Museums on the Green, an author program explores how Nobska Light figures into Elizabeth Heslop Sheehy’s account of a Millfield Street home and its ties to Eel Pond. The house was built by Walter Nickerson, a former resident of Nobska Point and son of Oliver Nickerson, the lighthouse’s longest tenured keeper. Walter’s older and younger brothers, along with his youngest sister, Florence, also feature in the narrative, with episodes that include a murder trial, time on the water, and a scandal involving marital betrayal. The talk connects the Millfield Street residence with the restored Keeper’s House in Woods Hole. Admission is $20 for non-members and $10 for Museums on the Green members, with a donation-based ticket option available. Light refreshments will be served.

Metal Clay Mania Weekend with Kim Rumberger

Celebrate the arrival of metal clay artist Kim Rumberger as the new Artist-In-Residence with a weekend of free activities that also marks the opening of her studio and teaching space upstairs at the Center. Start with an informal mixer that invites exploration of her newly finished studio, a look at her artwork, and complimentary refreshments, along with a reception for fresh exhibitions in the downstairs galleries. Continue with a lively session of metal clay demonstrations by three of Kim’s students, Sue Lonergan, Maria Daluz Reid, and Amy Kelly, served alongside sweet treats and complimentary bubbly. Wrap up with a free open studio that requires registration. Participants with previous metal clay experience can bring a project to work on with coaching from Kim. Space is limited, and visitors are welcome to observe. Kim Rumberger is an award-winning jewelry artist and metal clay instructor, with honors in multiple Alliance for Metal Clay Art Worldwide challenges and features in annual calendars that highlight top metal clay work. She has taught across Cape Cod since 2015 in leading cultural centers, galleries, and arts organizations. Recently invited to a residency at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, she now teaches and creates in a public studio space. Her background includes silversmithing in high school, mixed metals in college, and a shift to metal clay in 2014. Her pieces have been included in local and national juried shows. She is a juried member of the HyArts District Artist Shanties and the Orleans Art Cottages, and she mentors high school students through ArtWorks with MassHire Workforce Development. Fuller Farm Friday

Take part in a two-hour volunteer session with BLT’s green team at Fuller Farm, a 22-acre landscape that offers a short woodland loop with views of cranberry bogs and a meadow path along the edge of a former dairy field. Projects may include trail upkeep, removing invasive plants, tending the pollinator garden, and related stewardship tasks. This effort is supported in part by the Cape and Islands United Way. Registration is required for each individual First Friday project. Expect hands-on work such as lifting, kneeling, digging, and cutting brush. Bring water and work gloves, wear pants and closed-toe shoes, and feel free to bring your own shovels, loppers, hand saws, or rakes. Training will be provided and a limited supply of tools will be available. Project leader Kelly Barber, Director of Land Stewardship, will send specific project details the day before the volunteer day.

Early in his career he held the lead alto chair with the Ray Charles Orchestra and later worked with the revived Artie Shaw Orchestra under Dick Johnson, a background that informs a set filled with driving bebop, lyrical ballads, and narrative-rich solos recognized by prominent artists and critics. Dehumidifier Turn-In Event- Hyannis

Have an old, working dehumidifier you are ready to replace or clear out? Recycle it with Cape Light Compact and receive a $30 rebate. First confirm your eligibility, then drop off your dehumidifier at the event, pick up a rebate form from the staff, fill it out, and return it to them. To save time, you can complete the form in advance by printing a copy to bring with you or by submitting it online before you arrive, and staff will verify it when you turn in your unit. After the form is submitted, a $30 recycling rebate will be mailed within six to eight weeks. This offer is available to residential electric customers where the Mass Save Program is provided by Cape Light Compact, Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil. Eligible dehumidifiers must be in working condition, and there is a limit of two dehumidifier recycling rebates per account per calendar year.

Yarmouth Coastal Resiliency Fair & Parker’s River Landing Grand Opening

The Town of Yarmouth presents a Coastal Resiliency Fair alongside the grand opening of Parker’s River Landing, the culmination of a multi-year effort. Once a drive-in theater, the site is now a nature-focused public destination with a raised boardwalk, habitat restoration, and a kayak launch built to complement local coastal conditions. Speakers and guided walks highlight strategies being used to protect the shoreline for the long term. Following a ribbon cutting, activities span a touch-a-truck showcase with municipal vehicles, a children’s area with face painting, games, and family entertainment, as well as food trucks and artisan vendors. Guests can also wander new walking paths and a playground and enjoy views from the launch. Parking is available at Seagull Beach with shuttle service to the venue. Admission is free. The project was supported by the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness program, the Land and Water Conservation Fund, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, DCR Massachusetts, MassDOT, Woods Hole Group, BETA Group, Inc., Robert B. Our Co. Inc., and the Division of Conservation Services within the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.

Saturday features a slow roasted Carolina whole hog, cooked low and slow over shagbark and pignut hickory for rich, smoky flavor. The menu includes chopped pork, pork sandwiches, Memphis style St Louis mac and cheese, BBQ baked beans, potato salad, and both vinegar and mustard based sauces. House sauces are made with beers from Barnstable Brewing, with options like Irish Blonde, Crushaaaah, Before Noon, and Jesuit Juice lending a unique twist. Only one hog is prepared each week, so once it is gone it will not be available again until the following week.

Caring for Cape Cod

A community environmental fair spotlights the work happening across Falmouth and the Upper Cape, from ponds and shorelines to gardens and neighborhood green spaces. In a drop-in format, visitors can learn from local organizations, ask questions, and discover practical ways to get involved close to home. All attendees will be entered into door prize drawings, with items that include a composting starter kit. Participating groups include Falmouth Pond Coalition, Falmouth Solid Waste Advisory Committee, Litter Free Falmouth, and the Association to Preserve Cape Cod. The fair takes place in the Hermann Room, and registration is not required.

Pebble Art Craft Workshop

Explore pebble art and sea glass design in a two-hour workshop guided by local guest artist Kerry Consentino- Vilorio, owner of The Orange Jellyfish. Using beach finds such as sea glass, stones, pottery, coral, shells, and driftwood gathered from New England shores, each participant creates a custom picture that is mounted on cardstock and finished in an 8×8 glass frame. Cardstock choices include white, light crème, or light blue, and frames are gray. The setting is relaxed and self-paced, with plenty of room for personal creativity. You are welcome to bring special shells, stones, or sea glass from home to incorporate into your design. The finished piece makes a meaningful keepsake or a thoughtful gift. Hosted at the Osterville Village Library. Cost is $65 plus a processing fee.

Rossano has performed all over the US and Europe and has played with many jazz musicians such as Clark Terry, Bucky Pizzarelli, and Eddie Locke. Harry Allen has toured all over the US, Europe and Asia and has recorded with Tony Bennett, Johnny Mandel and James Taylor. There will be two shows.

As Cape Cod heads into late spring, honeybee swarms become more common. Beekeeper Miguel Zamora leads an informative talk that explains why colonies swarm and what to know if you encounter one. The program covers how to tell bees from wasps, a straightforward introduction to honeybee biology, and how swarming fits into the life of a hive. It also shares clear guidance on what to do and what to avoid when a swarm is nearby, how to report sightings, and why safe swarm recovery matters for both bees and beekeepers. This session is for anyone curious about bees or interested in how to respond to a swarm in their neighborhood. The talk will be held in the Hermann Room. Registration is requested.

Weeding Wednesday

Spend two focused hours helping care for native landscape gardens with BLT’s Weeding Wednesday crew at the BLT Office and Conservation Center. Activities vary by session and can include pulling invasive plants, tending pollinator beds, saving seed, and assisting with general upkeep. Registration is required for each project. Expect hands-on work that may involve lifting, kneeling, digging, and cutting brush. Bring water, work gloves, and any preferred kneeling pad, and wear pants with closed-toe shoes. Training is provided. A limited supply of tools will be available, and volunteers may also bring their own. A BLT staff member will share the specific plan the day before the volunteer day.

Midweek Meditation

Settle into a calm midweek practice in the Community Room with Zen meditation guided by Unshin Sangaku Dan Joslyn-sensei. Each hour offers a blend of instruction and quiet sitting. All are welcome at no cost, and donations may be offered. Registration is available for the series. Dan founded and serves as the guiding teacher of the Falmouth Soto Zen Sangha and has more than twenty years of teaching experience.

In observation of the 2026 EGH exhibit O Sordid Type: Edward Gorey’s Art of Lettering, this handlettering workshop at Thacher Hall offers an evening devoted to writing the alphabet in a variety of styles. Participants explore the history of the typefaces that inspired Gorey, learn the technique behind his traditional yet slightly off approach, and design letterforms of their own. Spirit On Ice

A fundraiser at the Orpheum Theater in Chatham honors members of the US Figure Skating community who were lost on Flight 5342. The program includes a panel featuring Nancy Kerrigan, Paul Wylie, current US Junior Men’s champion Patrick Blackwell, former US Junior champion Louann Donovan, and Doug Lane, the father of Spencer Lane who was lost on the flight. Conversations will reflect on what it takes to reach the top of the sport and the commitment shown by these young athletes. An auction will offer signed Olympic memorabilia and Cape Cod experiences such as wine tastings and private skating parties, plus a few surprises. All proceeds from tickets and the auction support The Legacy Fund, which helps emerging US figure skaters with travel assistance so they can attend camps that move them closer to their dreams.

Snowy Owls to Saw-whet Owls with Norman Smith

Naturalist Norman Smith presents an educational talk on his long-running work with owls. A self-taught researcher who has been with the Massachusetts Audubon Society since 1974, Smith has observed, captured, banded, and relocated Snowy Owls at Logan International Airport since 1981 as part of a continuing study. Hear insights from the project, learn about the questions that remain, and see how the work expanded to include research on Saw-whet Owls. The program welcomes all attendees and is recommended for ages 10 and up. No live animals will be present during the talk. Registration is required through the library event calendar.

Guided by the legend of Paikea, who survived a wreck and came ashore with the help of a whale, the community believes its chiefs descend from this ancestor and that leadership belongs to the eldest son. Pai, an 11 year old girl, feels called to lead her people. Her grandfather Koro, devoted to custom, seeks a male successor. Their close relationship is tested as she challenges long standing tradition to follow the path she believes is hers.

At Clark-Haddad Post 188 American Legion, this evening motorcycle gathering brings riders, families, friends, and supporters together to support veterans and highlight mental health and suicide prevention. Attendees can purchase hamburgers and hot dogs and take part in raffles, with all proceeds from food and raffle sales directed to organizations that provide trusted mental health and support services for veterans. A community-centered evening of music with local musician Leslie Gage takes place at West Falmouth United Methodist Church. The program features original pieces alongside well-known favorites and reflects her long relationship with Shamballa Healing Center, where she has helped lead monthly call-and-response kirtan and supported its mission of building community through sound and light. Gage began performing at 14 with her father’s band and has since played with groups on both coasts. She currently performs with The Brown Dog Band and the trio RumbleWagon, and recently appeared in the Cape Cod theater productions Low Tide and The Bee Hive, with vocals drawing comparisons to Tammy Wynette and Janis Joplin. This free community gathering does not require registration. Rowing Rendezvous

Come to Kalmus Beach and celebrate traditional rowing on Cape Cod. There will be boats on the beach, rowing demonstrations, and opportunities to try New England-style traditional small boats. Cape Symphony Presents: Joe Marchio [Organ Concert]

Cape Symphony’s Assistant Conductor, Joe Marchio, performs on the Casavant Frères pipe organ at First Congregational Church of Chatham, shifting from the podium to the console for a program that showcases the instrument’s range and color. The lineup features J. S. Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and Charles Ives’s Variations on America. Special guest Sarah Marchio joins on bagpipes for Highland Cathedral, with one additional selection to be announced. Built in 1972 by the Casavant Frères Organ Company of Quebec, the church’s organ was designed to support congregational and choral singing and to serve as a recital instrument for visiting artists. It offers 21 carefully chosen stops suited to German Baroque and French Romantic repertoire. A 2007 update added an electrified console and expanded couplers, increasing flexibility for English choral accompaniment and Romantic-era works. The instrument remains a valued centerpiece, continuing a tradition that reaches back to the congregation’s earliest melodeon. A portion of each ticket supports the Cape Symphony Orchestra, Chatham Chorale, and First Congregational Church of Chatham. Seating is limited, and child and student discounts are available.

Part of the Women Who Lead series, GRAMMY-nominated pianist and vocalist Judy Carmichael brings joyful stride piano and a swinging style to Falmouth Jazz. Nicknamed "Stride" by Count Basie, she has performed at Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center. For 25 years she has also hosted the NPR program Judy Carmichael's Jazz Inspired. She performs with guitarist John Merrill in a program centered on classic swing, co-sponsored with Highfield Hall and Gardens.

Silver Moon Swing: Jazz Standards by the Sea

Silver Moon Swing: Jazz Standards by the Sea brings together vocalists Lisa Kantor and Frankie Campofelice with the Cape Cod Jazz Trio for an evening of timeless songs from the Great American Songbook. Classic tunes from the 1930s and 40s and beyond are reimagined with a fresh touch, presented through a mix of solos and duets. Cabaret artist Lisa Kantor has crafted solo shows for two decades and has performed in Boston, the Berkshires, Provincetown, and New York City, including Don't Tell Mama, where she premiered her award-winning program SHADOWS honoring nightclub singers of the 1940s and 1950s. She has trained with award-winning cabaret artists, musicians, and directors from New York City, Boston, and beyond, and is recording an album scheduled for release in Fall 2026. Singer and vocal pedagogue Frankie Campofelice is an Assistant Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music and has also taught at Dean College and Salem State University. His performing credits include regular engagements around metro Boston and Provincetown at the Napoleon Room at Club Cafe, Post Office Cafe and Cabaret, Tin Pan Alley, the Love Lounge at the Gifford House, the Pilgrim House, and 361 Coffee and Espresso Bar. His debut album, Every Night at Seven, was released in 2025. The Cape Cod Jazz Trio features Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums, and since 2009 the group has performed across Cape Cod, including the Provincetown Jazz Festival, as well as in Providence, Nantucket, Plymouth, and Boston. The New Bedford Whaling Museum visits the OVL with ‘A Day in the Life of the Lagoda’

New Bedford Whaling Museum docents Capt. Michael Taylor and Nancy Gentile present an illustrated talk that traces a voyage aboard the whaleship Lagoda, offering a close look at daily routines at sea and the realities of the hunt. The program explores crew responsibilities, methods used to pursue whales, how blubber was handled and what was produced from it, the design of the ship, and the way the industry changed over time, linking New Bedford and Nantucket with journeys into Arctic waters and beyond. It also brings attention to the wives who sailed with their husbands and what life was like for them on board. Live demonstrations featuring baleen and harpoons are included. The program takes place in the Main Meeting Room at the Osterville Village Library.

Dinner & A Movie: The Christophers

The Woods Hole Film Festival’s Dinner & A Movie series continues with Steven Soderbergh’s new feature The Christophers, starring Michaela Coel and Ian McKellen. The story follows Julian Sklar, a once-celebrated figure from the 1960s London art scene who has withdrawn into solitude. His estranged children, played by James Corden and Jessica Gunning, recruit Lori, a young painter with a history of forgery portrayed by Michaela Coel, to pose as an assistant and infiltrate his home studio. Their aim is to reach a storied cache of unfinished canvases and leverage them in a bid for inheritance. The cast also features Ferdy Roberts. Part of the Winter and Spring Film Series, Dinner & A Movie offers twice-monthly, in-person screenings of independent films, including past festival selections and titles curated specifically for this program. The film will screen at Redfield Auditorium. Before the show, ticket holders may be eligible for a discount on dinner at the Captain Kidd Restaurant and the Quahog Republic Leeside Pub; contact the restaurants for details and reservations. “The Three Little Pigs” Puppet show presented by Dream Tale Puppets at the OVL!

Dream Tale Puppets presents a 25-minute retelling of the well known tale at OVL, designed for small audiences and often a favorite at family parties. Three piglets build three very different houses and outsmart a mischievous wolf, with conversations with their mother, house building, and lively back and forth playing out on and around a cloth draped tabletop. The production uses four rod puppets for the pigs, a hand puppet for the wolf, and an assortment of home building materials. Two artists bring the story to life, one handling narration and character voices and the other animating the puppets. Performers include puppeteer Jacek Zuzanski with either Margaret Moody, Robert Bock, or Laura Opie. After the performance, children usually have a chance to meet the performers, get a closer look at the puppets and props, ask questions, and play.

Photographer and educator Paul Muratore leads a relaxed, hands-on walking workshop through some of Chatham’s most visually engaging locations. Field School: Cape Cod Herbal Immersion

Discover the plants of Cape Cod in a two-day course. Participants will learn about the medicine of the trees, shrubs, and wildflowers located in dunes, fields, woods, and wetlands. The weekend will be spent hiking the different ecosystems of Cape Cod, learning about the plants found there. Attendees will stroll along the beach to gather beach rose petals for tea, infused honey, and elixir. Discussions will include ethical harvesting principles, how to work with plants and their chemistry to make effective remedies, the human relationship with our ecosystem, and how ecosystems can provide healing. Participants will leave with herbal remedies to share.

The Dexter Rhododendron Collection: Past, Present, and Future

Explore the history of rhododendrons at Heritage Museums & Gardens. Lillian Borbas, Curator of Rhododendrons, will discuss Charles O. Dexters work and legacy. See images of Dexters hybrids and learn about those who continued his work. Discover how the museum has expanded its collection from 18 Dexter hybrids in 1970 to over 170 today. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how the collection is preserved and grown using propagation techniques. This program will be held indoors at the Heald Center inside the J.K. Lilly III Automobile Gallery. There will be time for questions following the presentation.

Autumn Drive | Neptune's Cape Cod

Autumn Drive began as a studio project in summer 2023 and has grown into an indie act on the rise, touring across greater New England. Rooted in SouthCoast Massachusetts, the band first built a following in the Cape Cod and Islands bar scene, then expanded into Boston and college communities statewide, selling out shows along the way. Highlights include an appearance at Mojofest, known as Massachusetts’ largest college music festival with 4,000 attendees. The group was a finalist in Levitate Music Festival’s Songwriter of the Year national contest and made a debut on a large festival stage last year. With two EPs already released and a third, Going Undone, arriving in November 2025, the band is backing the new music with supporting tours.

Jazz Jam with Bart Weisman

On the third Sunday of each month, a jazz jam brings together listeners and performers to explore jazz standards with Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums. Established in 2006, it has remained the only jazz jam on Cape Cod, featuring both professional and student musicians. Sponsored by Marlene Marrocco. The talk introduces the three community leaders who decided what would go inside, traces the challenges the container faced during its long century at rest, and details what was uncovered when a crowd of thousands witnessed the opening many years later. Ghosts of Jupiter, a New England band known for progressive rock and psychedelic soundscapes, will be performing. The band is led by Nate Wilson, a current moe. keyboardist and founding member of Percy Hill. Opening the show is Caylin Costello, a singer-songwriter and frontwoman from Milford, NH, who leads the Caylin Costello Band. She will be performing an acoustic set showcasing her vocals and guitar work, influenced by rock, pop, and indie.

Cape Symphony: Voices of Spring

Cape Symphony Orchestra brings the season to life at Barnstable Performing Arts Center with a program that traces spring’s energy and color. The concert opens with Lili Boulanger’s D’un matin de printemps, followed by Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, then concludes after intermission with Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, moving from a somber beginning to a hopeful finale that includes the beloved Adagietto. Music Director Alyssa Wang conducts this Masterpiece series finale. Seaweed is a familiar sight along Cape beaches, yet it is often overlooked or misunderstood. This children’s story time features a presentation by ecologist and author Gil Newton that explores what seaweeds are, how they support coastal wildlife, how to recognize different kinds, which species can become invasive and cause ecological issues, and which varieties are edible or used in industry. Cape Cod Youth Dart Tournament 2026

Young dart players gather at Yarmouth Loyal Order of Moose 2270 for a full day focused on the game. Participation is free for players 18 and under, with brackets for ages 12 and under and 13 and older. Each youth participant receives a swag bag along with pizza and beverages. IAN MAKSIN in FALMOUTH MA: Songs of Love & Peace

Ian Maksin, cellist, composer, and multilingual vocalist, brings a deeply immersive program to Saint Barnabas's Episcopal Church in Falmouth. He layers the cello with a loop pedal and other electronics, blending soulful instrumentals with voice to weave traditional songs from many cultures together with original works. The program features music from his latest release, shaped by travels across continents, mountaineering, flying airplanes, meditation, and collaborations with local musicians in search of a shared cultural thread. He will also share pieces from earlier albums including The Alchemist and Amor Renatus, along with selections from a repertoire of more than 300 songs in 43 languages. CCCA New England Region Grand Classic 2026

The New England Region hosts a Grand Classic at Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich, Massachusetts on Cape Cod, featuring Full Classics on the lawn, expansive gardens, and the on-site car museum. The Car Barn showcases a collection of 43 antique and Full Classic automobiles, including Gary Cooper’s 1930 Duesenberg J Derham Tourster, a 1932 Auburn Boattail Speedster, and President Howard Taft’s 1909 White Steamer. The program begins with arrivals and check-in followed by a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Friday centers on Classic Skills Games, a lighthearted series of low speed driving challenges on grass for participating Full Classics, highlighting driver skill and navigator coordination, with prizes planned. Boyle, a Cape Cod mainstay, has appeared at Birdland and Scullers, served as music director for Norwegian Cruise Line, and performed as a featured pianist for Seabourn. A genre-crossing bill brings together three distinct acts. The Krishna Guthrie Band, rooted in the Green Mountains of Vermont, fuses rock, folk, and blues with touches of funk and rock and roll, balancing original material with inventive takes on familiar songs. 25th Annual Sheep Festival

The 25th Annual Sheep Festival at Taylor-Bray Farm highlights wool, working dogs, and historic farm life. Ongoing sheep shearing and herding demonstrations showcase the craft and care behind the flock. In the fiber arts tent, spinners, weavers, rug hookers, and other artisans share handcrafted work that celebrates wool and fiber. Visitors can ride a hay wagon, meet the animals, and tour the 17th-century farmhouse. A large silent auction features items and experiences contributed by local businesses and friends of TBFPA. Food and refreshments are available, and the scenic 23-acre historic farm offers beautiful marsh views.

Independence Day Legacy of Liberty

Hosted by the Town of Yarmouth, this commemoration marks the 250th anniversary of the American Revolutionary War with a monument dedication and living history fair at Thacher Park and the Ancient Cemetery. The program includes dedicating a monument honoring more than 400 local residents who served in the Revolution, followed by a grave marking ceremony at the Ancient Cemetery in Yarmouth Port. Living history interpreters in period attire will engage visitors at the gravesites with interactive storytelling. Afterward, activities shift back to the monument area for a living history fair featuring food vendors and activities for children.

Stories in Swing: Shawnn Monteiro & Cape Cod Jazz Quartet

Shawnn Monteiro brings a lifetime in jazz to the stage. Discovered in the early 1970s by Afro-Cuban jazz pioneer Mongo Santamaria while singing at a San Jose club, she toured extensively with his band before stepping out as a solo artist grounded in the tradition she grew up with. Her father, bassist Jimmy Woode of the Duke Ellington orchestra, introduced her to Europe’s jazz circles, and she has continued to foster those ties through tours and by leading master vocal classes in Rome and Genoa starting in 1995. Listeners have likened her sound to Carmen McRae for its conversational ease and confident phrasing, yet her voice remains distinctly her own. With seven albums and appearances spanning from Rhode Island to Siberia, she is recognized as a skilled interpreter of jazz standards and a dedicated educator. In 2024 she was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame. She appears with the Cape Cod Jazz Quartet, featuring Steve Ahern on trumpet and flute, Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums. Together they shape an intimate, swinging exchange that arises when seasoned musicians share a stage. Tickets are $35, or $30 for members.

‘Vision Through the Years: Understanding Your Aging Eyes’ Presented by Dr. Michael Price

Dr. Michael Price presents a practical, easy-to-understand look at how eyesight changes with age and what can help preserve eye health. The presentation reviews basic eye anatomy, clarifies which changes are typical and which call for professional evaluation, and shares ways to support long-term vision through smart lifestyle choices, early detection, and modern treatments. Topics include why reading glasses become necessary, what cataracts are and when to consider treatment along with today’s surgical options and lens implants, glaucoma and the importance of routine monitoring for this condition that can quietly steal vision, and the differences between wet and dry macular degeneration with current treatment approaches. Dry eye, floaters, and flashes are also covered. The session concludes with time for questions. At Clark-Haddad Post 188 American Legion, the second annual memorial clambake honors Staff Sergeant Raymond G. Tourville and raises support for veteran and military mental health initiatives. Proceeds benefit the Raymond G. Tourville Memorial Fund, a donor-advised fund of The Cape Cod Foundation that backs programs addressing the hidden wounds felt by veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. Dinner selections are made at registration. Adult plates offer a choice of lobster, chicken, or steak, served with steamers, clam chowder, red potatoes, corn on the cob, sweet Italian sausage, watermelon, and water. Kids meals feature a choice of hamburger, cheeseburger, or hot dog, with clam chowder, potato chips, watermelon, and water. Tickets are available, and sponsorship opportunities provide additional ways to contribute and recognize community support. Participation helps expand access to mental health resources, build awareness, and honor those lost to invisible wounds.

Enjoy a carefully curated tea service with whimsical flavors, storytelling, and a hint of magic. The setting features Arabian flair with soft gold accents, deep teal tones, and playful touches that nod to Jasmine’s world. Look forward to an elegantly arranged tea table, charming details throughout, and a menu designed to delight both kids and grown-ups. Jazz Jam with Bart Weisman

Listeners and players gather to perform and hear jazz standards with Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums. Both professional and student musicians take part. Since 2006, it has been presented as Cape Cod's sole jazz jam. Support is provided by Marlene Marrocco. Admission is $20 for the public and $15 for members, musicians pay $10 or $5 for members, and students are admitted free.

SHADOWS: A “Golden Era of Nightclubs” Cabaret with Lisa Kantor

Inspired by the golden age of nightclubs, Shadows highlights the vocalists who brought 1940s clubs, speakeasies, and cabarets to life. Singer Lisa Kantor revisits the era with music tied to Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, George and Ira Gershwin, Peggy Lee, and others, shaping an intimate journey where the songs carry the stories and the room hums with energy. Fresh off receiving the Mike Renzi Award in Provincetown and strong notices in both Boston and New York City, she brings this acclaimed program to the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. The performance lasts about 75 minutes. The creative team features director Lina Koutrakos, music director Tom LaMark, and bassist Dave Landoni. Cabaret Scenes critics have praised Kantor’s ease with the Great American Songbook and the cohesive design of the show. Over the past two decades she has crafted and performed solo cabarets across Boston, the Berkshires, Provincetown, and New York, including a debut of Shadows at Don’t Tell Mama, and she has been recording an upcoming album in New York.

Mephiskapeles + The Selectmen + DJ Selah LIVE

A high-energy ska showcase brings together Mephiskapheles, The Selectmen, and DJ Selah. Mephiskapheles, born in New York City’s East Village in 1991, became a key force in the third wave of ska while exploring a darker, inventive fusion. Early momentum grew into sold-out New York shows, tours with the Buzzcocks and GWAR, and three Hawaiian Islands Chart singles from the 1994 debut God Bless Satan, produced by Bill Laswell. The band followed with Maximum Perversion in 1997, often praised for its jazz streak, and Might-Ay White-Ay in 1999 on Koch Records, then a self-titled EP in 2015 highlighted by Satan Stole My Weed and The Never Born Again EP in 2019, a return to its moody, melodic core. Fronted by lead singer Invidious, also known as the Nubian Nightmare, and backed by the Horns of Hell, the group continues to deliver powerful shows, reissues, and a new full-length in progress. The Selectmen provide direct support. This eight-piece from New Hampshire fires up a blend of ska and soul with classic rock and roll energy. Launched as a four-piece in 2022, the band expanded over time and, after a couple of name changes, settled on The Selectmen in January 2026. The sound balances modern and vintage touches, built on hooks and deep grooves, and their lively performances have fostered a loyal following among fans of ska, classic soul, and rock and roll. DJ Selah, also known as Selah Sagacious, traces his roots to the Washington DC punk and later skinhead scenes of the 80s and 90s. A love of Two Tone led to original Jamaican ska, then to roots, rubadub, dancehall, and dub. His first released track was Model Citizen on The Pietasters debut, and he appears on other Pietasters cuts including Tasters Choice, Drunken Master, and Can’t Stand It. He continues to perform with The Pietasters and with many other bands and sound systems.

An Evening with Yachtley Crew

Yachtley Crew brings its seven-member Southern California outfit to Cape Cod Melody Tent for an evening centered on the smooth sound of Yacht Rock, the soft rock and Top 40 style of the late 1970s and early 1980s that often sparks sing-alongs and themed attire. Breaking out in 2017 with a run of sold-out club dates, the group helped drive the genre’s nationwide revival. Their momentum caught the attention of Jimmy Buffett, leading to a Mailboat Records signing and later a deal with Earache and Universal Records. Onstage, the band delivers favorites such as Boz Scaggs’ Lido Shuffle, Ace’s How Long, Robbie Dupree’s Steal Away, the Bee Gees’ How Deep Is Your Love, and Christopher Cross’ Ride Like the Wind, alongside Toto’s Africa, Looking Glass’ Brandy, and Rupert Holmes’ Escape (The Piña Colada Song). Their EP Seas the Day was produced and mixed by Grammy winner Chris Lord-Alge and introduced the original track Sex on the Beach, paired with a video featuring Mario Lopez and directed by Myles Erfurth. Career highlights include appearances on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Las Vegas Countdown on KLAS and KTLA, numerous morning television and radio shows nationwide, and a live performance for SiriusXM’s Yacht Rock Radio 311 as the first band of the style to play at the satellite network’s studios. The band is managed by Andy Gould and represented by Jim Lenz at TKO, has recorded a new song by Diane Warren, and has contributed to charitable events such as the Mario Lopez Golf Classic in support of Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
