Chair Yoga
Enjoy a gentle, chair-based yoga session led by Breathe for Change certified instructor Staci. This free class is accessible to all levels and focuses on safe, restorative movement taught with a trauma-informed approach. It takes place in the 3rd Floor Community Room at the North Adams Public Library. Space is limited, and registration is suggested.
North Adams Public LibraryDjembe and Doun Doun class with Bolokada Conde
Tamarack Hollow and Gaia Roots World Music present an intergenerational djembe and doun doun class led by master Malinke drummer Bolokada Conde of Morowaya, Guinea at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts. The session welcomes participants of varied experience levels and includes a short presentation featuring Bolokada, Aimee Gelinas, members of Gaia Roots, and the Berkshire Rhythm Keepers. As part of the spring portion of the 17th annual Tamarack Hollow Berkshire Drum Fest, this gathering celebrates community through rhythm. Proceeds support the artist and Tamarack Hollow Nature & Cultural Center’s year round environmental education, the Raise the Roof building project, and conservation of 88 acres of highland boreal forest in Windsor, Massachusetts. Registration is required, space is limited, scholarships are available, and drum rentals are $5. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Pittsfield Cultural Council with support from the Mass Cultural Council.
Lichtenstein Center For ArtsEcstatic Dance
An intentional dance gathering invites participants to move with joyful freedom, release what holds them back, and express their true selves. The environment is sober, safe, and free of judgment, allowing open, supportive movement. The focus is on listening to your body’s guidance, following your inner rhythms, and enjoying shared connection in community. Please bring water and wear comfortable clothing.
Monday Mahjong Group
Learn Mahjong or connect with fellow players during a welcoming, social game session in the Berkshire Athenaeum's auditorium. All experience levels are welcome, with supplies provided and tutors available for guidance and instruction. Participants may bring their own Mahjong card or use one provided by the library.
