Literary Naturalists & Journaling Workshop
At Tippecanoe Battlefield Park, this special 25th anniversary program offers an introduction to nature journaling led by Naturalist Mary Cutler of Tippecanoe County Parks and Recreation. After creating personal journals, the group will head to the banks of Burnett’s Creek and nearby woodlands to practice observation and find inspiration. The content is geared toward adults, though school-aged children may participate if they can stay engaged and interested. Capacity is limited to 20 participants and advance registration is required. Indicating interest on Facebook does not reserve a spot. For more information, contact Tippecanoe County Naturalist Mary Cutler at 765-567-2993 or mcutler@tippecanoe.in.gov.

Tippecanoe County Public Library Wea Prairie BranchPopstar Summer Camp
This pop-inspired studio camp invites kids to explore music, style, and self-expression through hands-on art. Each session pairs creative making with a relaxed studio moment that encourages sharing, reflection, or a brief turn in the spotlight. Throughout the week, campers develop a personal creative identity within a supportive environment that celebrates individuality, imagination, and confidence. Daily themes change to keep things fresh. Monday centers on storytelling with a Swiftie twist, blending mixed media and collage alongside time to craft friendship bracelets, then artists give their pieces a song-style title. Tuesday is all about building a band, as groups choose a name, craft a logo, pick colors, and present their collective look. Wednesday leans into Eilish-inspired graffiti, studying bold lettering and composition while contributing to a large collaborative wall before revealing the group canvas. Thursday explores the connection between sound and visual art by making simple instruments, experimenting with rhythm and vibration, and finishing with a group sound check. Friday shifts to K-pop cinema aesthetics, using alcohol markers and anime-influenced techniques for dynamic character work, followed by a small showcase where final illustrations are displayed and titled. Suggested ages are 7 to 11. Day-by-day enrollment is welcome since each theme stands on its own. Campers should bring a refillable water bottle and an optional snack, and popcorn that is dairy free is provided. If weather allows, there is a brief outdoor break for a short walk or free play during snack time, and sun protection such as sunscreen, hats, or sunglasses is encouraged. This is a drop-off program with quick check-in and pick-up near the start and end of the session. Group sizes are kept small for individualized support, and all materials are included.
