Auditions: The Drowsy Chaperone
Auditions are being held at South Bend Civic Theatre for The Drowsy Chaperone, directed by Wendy and Marty Golob. This winner of multiple Tony Awards, including honors for book and score, affectionately celebrates the Golden Age as a devoted fan spins a favorite cast album that springs to life onstage. The story delivers lively songs, energetic dance numbers, and a playful meta twist while following an engaged couple on the brink of marriage, a hapless best man, a producer under pressure, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters disguised as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan, and an inebriated chaperone. Praised by New York Magazine and known for its many featured roles and approachable script, the show offers opportunities for a broad range of performers.
