Watercolor 101: Watercolor Painting for the Foodies

Build core watercolor techniques by painting favorite foods. Explore how light, color, and texture make edible subjects look mouthwatering, then carry those skills into nearly any subject. Sudden cravings may occur. This class welcomes adult learners at beginner through intermediate levels. All supplies are provided, and the fee is $55. BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers

This American Heart Association Basic Life Support course prepares participants to quickly identify life-threatening emergencies, deliver high-quality chest compressions, provide effective rescue breaths, and use an AED without delay. Instruction aligns with the latest AHA updates for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. The class is intended for professional responders and clinical staff, including EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and in-hospital teams. It is also suitable for healthcare providers and first responders in settings such as dental practices, nursing homes, and childcare facilities. Please check with your employer to confirm this is the correct course for your role. Training includes adult, child, and infant CPR, the BLS components of the Chain of Survival, ventilation using a barrier device, team-based CPR with multiple rescuers, and techniques to relieve choking in adults and infants. Those who successfully complete the requirements receive an AHA BLS completion card valid for two years. Cards are emailed, and delivery may take two to three weeks.

Valpo Creates Camp - Boys and Girls Club

Valpo Creates Camp partners with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana, Valparaiso Club to bring hands-on arts experiences to children across four consecutive Wednesdays. Each week features a different focus. Theater sessions build performance skills as campers create a collaborative skit. Dance workshops introduce a variety of styles and encourage individual movement. Visual arts time explores color with a summer-themed project to take home. The final session spotlights music through an Instrument Petting Zoo that invites kids to try and interact with various instruments. Registration through the Boys and Girls Club is required to participate. Event details are subject to change.
