Yankee Doodle Dandy

Carnegie-Stout Public Library presents a free matinee screening of the classic musical biography Yankee Doodle Dandy in the Aigler Auditorium on the third floor. The 1942 film stars James Cagney, an Academy Award winner for Best Actor, as George M. Cohan, tracing the entertainer’s early years, signature songs, achievements, and romances. It received eight Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and was added to the National Film Registry in 1993 by the Library of Congress for its cultural, historical, and aesthetic importance. The movie runs 2 hours and 5 minutes, is presented in black and white, and is not rated. Closed captions will be enabled. Healing Your Mommy Tummy - Workshop

Guided by Dr. Leslie and Hanna, this core and pelvic floor workshop supports moms who notice lingering belly changes after pregnancy, such as doming, coning, or bulging, or who have been told they have diastasis recti or suspect it. Through clear instruction and practical strategies, participants learn to engage the deep core safely, coordinate breath, posture, abdominal muscles, and the pelvic floor, and use techniques that may reduce pressure while protecting pelvic organs and supporting long-term pelvic health. The session also offers a thoughtful starting point for rebuilding strength with greater confidence. It is suited for anyone feeling core weakness or disconnection, experiencing back discomfort, pelvic pressure, leaking, or heaviness, and for those who are pregnant or postpartum and want guidance when typical core routines have not helped. Whether pregnancy is current, recent, or many years in the past, the focus is on reconnecting with the body and understanding what it needs to heal and function well.
