Unravel & Restore: Releasing the Survival Patterns (Healing Movement Workshop + Book Signing)

Author, healer, and somatic guide Erin McGuire-Henson leads a supportive, trauma-aware workshop inspired by her book The Art of Unraveling. The session focuses on recognizing common survival patterns such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, and taking on excessive responsibility, then offers ways to soften them through nervous system awareness and deeper self-connection. Through gentle somatic movement, regulation practices, and guided reflection, participants are invited to reconnect with their bodies, release stored stress, and cultivate a stronger sense of internal safety. The experience is accessible to all levels and does not require prior knowledge of trauma work or nervous system education. It may be especially meaningful for anyone feeling burned out or emotionally depleted, those who are often the strong one others rely on, individuals who struggle with people-pleasing or perfectionist tendencies, and those who carry responsibility for others’ emotions or outcomes while seeking greater self-connection and restoration. As part of Erin’s Iowa tour for The Art of Unraveling, signed copies will be available after the workshop for those who wish to continue the exploration.
