Entrepreneurs and small businesses present ideas to the local community and learn ways people around them can support their growth. This weekly gathering is part of the local 1 Million Cups (1MC) program at Ames Regional Economic Alliance. It centers on idea sharing and community support for business growth.

Sixty Forward CenterSnail Mail Workshops: Cursive Writing
Celebrate an analog summer with a hands-on, drop-in workshop at the Iowa State University Memorial Union. Create handmade cards, postcards, and letter-writing stationery using paper, collage pieces, ephemera, washi tape, fabric, and other embellishments. Mini technique sessions are offered in a relaxed, come-and-go format so participants can pick up new skills at their own pace. Pricing is $9 to $12 per person in the studio, or $13 to $16 to take a kit to go. If you participate, a $3 fee is added to each person’s card pack. The workshop takes place in the east basement of the Memorial Union, and paid parking is available next to the building. Upcoming sessions will also explore DIY eraser stamps and fancy fold cards.

Attendees can connect with staff, explore the facility and learn how Boone FLEX brings recreation, wellness and community together in one place. The gathering welcomes members, neighbors and anyone curious about the project taking shape in Boone. Light refreshments will be offered.
