Available services include vaccinations, flea, tick and heartworm preventatives, and deworming. Each visit also includes a brief wellness exam by an on-site veterinarian. Appointments can be scheduled through the Oahu SPCA website, and clinic schedules for Oahu are shared on their Facebook page. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Oahu SPCA uses proceeds from these clinics to support the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of animals in crisis.

Ingredients – A Dinner Series

Experience the opening chapter of a new dinner series at Kona Beach Resort, an intimate oceanfront evening guided by Chef George Gomes Jr. and the culinary team. The tasting menu celebrates the Hawaiian kiawe tree’s rich, smoky character through a thoughtfully composed progression of courses paired with select wines and Private Barrel Kuleana Rum. Throughout the night, chefs present and finish each course tableside, offering insight into the techniques, flavors, and local ingredients that shape the journey. The menu begins with a simple, refreshing amuse-bouche, then moves to chilled kiawe-smoked Hawaiian kanpachi with crisp prosciutto, a warm Meyer lemon sabayon, and crunchy local avocado. A pastrami-inspired duck breast is paired with a duck confit spring roll, cacao vinaigrette, and local beets. A centerpiece course of beef tenderloin and lobster is seared over kiawe charcoal and served with a peppercorn rum sauce and Parmesan tater tots. Dessert features a chocolate budino accompanied by sweet pineapple carpaccio, a marshmallow toasted over kiawe, a touch of smoky olive oil, and baby island cress. Frozen The Broadway Musical

Experience the magic of FROZEN The Broadway Musical live on stage at Hilo’s Palace Theater, a family friendly production presented as a live musical for all ages. The performance runs about 120 minutes with an intermission. Doors open one hour before showtime, and seating inside the auditorium begins about 40 minutes before. Late arrivals are held in the lobby and then seated by ushers to keep the performance uninterrupted. Ticket options include $15 for keiki 12 and under in rows F and back, $25 general in rows F and back, and $35 orchestra in the first four rows with extra leg room. Prices increase by $5 on the day of the show. All sales are final and tickets are not refundable or transferable. Seats are assigned within the section purchased, and patrons choose their seats at the time of purchase. This Palace stage production is produced by HEART, the Hilo based organization behind Dear Evan Hansen, Cabaret, Beauty and the Beast, Biloxi Blues, Chicago, Gypsy, Avenue Q, The Lion King, Grease, The Prom, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Disney’s Frozen is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International, with authorized performance materials supplied by MTI.

The Youth Arts Series Summer Art Camp: Littles

Designed for ages 6 to 8, this Youth Arts Series summer camp invites keiki to explore a range of art mediums with guidance from skilled local instructors. Participants will learn essential techniques while creating their own pieces in three hands-on classes, including paper portrait collage with Cindy Moore, character creation at the Imagination Station with Angela Georgette, and junk journaling with Mary Milelzcik. Snacks are provided, and all supplies are included. Enrollment is $155 for EHCC members and $180 for nonmembers.

Hilo Orchid Show Gala Preview Party

At Edith Kanaka’ole Stadium, a festive preview party launches the 2026 Annual Orchid Show & Sale in Hilo. Guests can enjoy a broad selection of wines and draft beer, additional hard and soft drinks, catered fare, and live music, along with early orchid viewing and the chance to purchase in advance. Proceeds from ticket sales support Ku’ikahi Mediation Center’s work toward peace, while silent auction funds benefit the Hilo Orchid Society’s scholarship program. Tickets are $115, with $40 tax deductible, and each ticket includes a souvenir wine or beer glass. Tickets are available at Ku’ikahi Mediation Center and The Most Irresistible Shop. AHA! Art Immersion- “Access to Employment” Talk Story

AHA! Art Immersion hosts an open “Access to Employment” Talk Story at the Wailoa Art Center, a free community gathering focused on breaking barriers and creating opportunity as part of a month-long celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Organized by Abled Hawaiʻi Artists, Full Life Hawaiʻi, and the Hawaiʻi Disability Rights Center, the conversation explores practical paths to workplace equity and economic independence within the disability community. Topics include customized and integrated employment that honors individual strengths, along with how to start a micro-enterprise so disabled creators and other community members can build and launch their own businesses. The broader exhibition blends contemporary disability journeys with historical portraits to create an immersive space at the heart of the Renaissance of Inclusion Movement. For 18 years, AHA has supported more than 20,000 people in gaining access, recognition, and income through the arts. Admission is free, supported by a wide network of community partners and volunteers.

The festival takes place at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel in the Moku Ola Ballroom and Lanai. Vendors and demonstrators can inquire with Na Makua Original Hawaiian Designs about participation.

Kalani Pe’a 10 Year Anniversary Concert

A live, all-ages concert celebrates a decade of music from four-time Grammy winner Kalani Peʻa. The performance lasts approximately 120 minutes with an intermission. Special guests include Nā Kumu Hula Pōlanimakamae Kahakalau-Kalima and Noʻeau Kahakalau-Kalima, Hālau Hula Kauluola, and Hālau Nāwehiokaipoaloha Kumu Hula Ipolei Lindsey-Asing. Presented by the Palace Theater, this event is part of the Celebration of Hawaiian Music and Culture made possible with funding from the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. Tickets are offered at $50 for General Reserve and $70 for Priority Orchestra, and the $40 Early Bird General Reserve is sold out. Seating is assigned within each ticketed section and specific seats are chosen at the time of purchase. All sales are final and tickets cannot be refunded or transferred.
