Steam Labs: The Math of Doll Fashion

Explore how math powers doll fashion in this STEAM Labs session. Bring a 16-inch doll and an open imagination to see how geometry informs style. No sewing is required as participants work with squares, rectangles, and circles, combining shapes to create bold looks for a doll and spark ideas for their own wardrobe. The hands-on activity offers three paths so everyone can participate at a comfortable pace: beginners personalize a ready-made doll jacket, those in the middle assemble and decorate pre-cut pieces, and advanced makers cut, build, and embellish a jacket from start to finish. As part of the Family Edition of STEAM Labs, a science demonstration leads into an art project you can take home. Designed for kids and adults to learn side by side, examples of each level are available during the program so participants can choose the right fit. Tickets include same-day general admission.

Watercolor & Wine

Explore watercolor in a relaxed, welcoming workshop designed for beginners and seasoned creatives alike. Bring a beverage of your choice to enjoy while you paint. Artist Jenn Morris starts with a brief warm-up, then provides step-by-step guidance to create a serene beach scene. The fee is $30 and includes all supplies, with a $25 rate for members of The 567. Jenn has been passionate about arts and crafts since childhood and learned foundational skills from her artist grandfather, who worked primarily in oils. Watercolor is her favorite medium, and she has spent years practicing it and sharing her skills with others.
