Flynn's Pitch Black Prerelease #2

Flynn's Hobby Shop hosts a second Mega Evolution: Pitch Black prerelease, a casual, beginner friendly tournament that gives players an early look at the upcoming set. It is ideal for collectors and newcomers to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Participation is capped at 34 players. All tables are reserved for the prerelease, and spectators may watch while standing so play space remains available. Entry is 30 dollars and includes one Build & Battle Box containing a ready to play 40 card deck, one of four special stamped promo cards, and four Mega Evolution: Pitch Black booster packs to use during the event. When the tournament concludes, each participant receives three additional Mega Evolution: Pitch Black booster packs. Check in takes place at the door with staff. Players who are not on the reservation list will be placed on a waitlist, and if any spots remain they are offered on a first come, first served basis. Direct message Flynn's Pokémon League for the reservation link. Each participant is issued a Build & Battle Kit shortly before deck construction, not during registration. After the organizer’s instructions, players have a set period to build a 40 card deck using only the contents of their Build & Battle Box along with basic Energy. Basic Energy will be provided by the organizer. The tournament consists of three rounds, and the additional booster packs are distributed after play concludes. Trading or using any other cards during deck building is not allowed. Participants must bring at least six dice, a coin for flips or a six sided translucent die that is slightly larger than the damage counter dice, and Burn and Poison status markers. Card sleeves are highly recommended to protect new cards and are available for purchase at the shop. A positive, sportsmanlike attitude is required. Dice sets are not stocked at the shop for this event, so please arrive prepared. Spots cannot be held by staff, and friends cannot hold places for others. Phone requests to hold a seat will not be accommodated. Additional Build & Battle Kits are not for sale during the prerelease due to policy, and any leftover materials may be sold later only if the league qualifies for an early release program. Conceding or scooping rounds to collect the extra packs is not permitted and will result in forfeiture of those packs. Active participation throughout the event is expected in keeping with the Spirit of the Game.

REGISTER NOW! July 2026 General Meeting - Broward Sierra Group

The Broward Sierra Group hosts a hybrid general meeting offered in person at Veterans Park and online. The evening features Richard Ramcharitar of Broward Clean Air, an environmental advocate and community educator, who will discuss why moving toward zero waste matters for South Florida and share practical strategies to make progress. The program begins with a presentation on advancing zero waste approaches across the region, followed by a hands-on sorting activity that shows how to separate materials for reuse, recycling, composting, and landfill. Attendees are encouraged to take the Solid Waste Authority pledge and let local commissioners know they support this work. A mini zero waste swap invites participants to bring usable items from home so others can put them to good use, including things like kitchen, office or art supplies, textiles, books, small appliances, electronics, or gardening gear. Any remaining items will be collected for donation to help keep quality goods out of the landfill. In-person guests can expect refreshments and a prize question, and bringing a refillable water bottle is recommended. Registration is required to attend. Richard Ramcharitar is the founder of Broward Clean Air and focuses on zero waste, recycling reform, composting, and sustainable community initiatives across South Florida. His experience includes contributing to planning tied to the Miami-Dade County Zero Waste Master Plan and supporting stakeholder outreach and community engagement for the Southwest Ranches Zero Waste Plan with Abbe & Associates. He has been active with the Broward Solid Waste Authority, participating in Executive Committee, Governing Board, and Technical Advisory Board meetings to advocate for innovative strategies and sustainable materials management. He has also taken part in meetings and field visits at Miami International Airport to improve recycling and sustainability at a major international airport. Recognized among elected officials, zero waste professionals, and community stakeholders, he has traveled across the United States and Brazil to study solutions and help bring practical, community-based approaches back to South Florida.

PBR: Teams Series

PBR: Teams Series brings professional bull riding’s team format to Sunrise at Amerant Bank Arena, formerly FLA Live Arena. Teams go head to head, and each ride can flip the momentum. Riders combine strategy with instant decisions, so the competition feels more like a close meet than a string of standalone rides. A few seconds in the chute can reshape a team’s night, with quick shifts and split second calls defining the action.
