The Hernando County Fair returns with bright midway lights, classic rides, and plenty of fair food for all ages. Ride armbands are available, and each day brings its own mix of specials and entertainment. Look for a barn dance, a truck and tractor pull, an alpaca showcase, a classic car display, small animal competitions featuring rabbits and poultry, a beauty pageant, bingo, a fish show, a kids dance party, a hobby horse race, a beard and mustache contest, a demolition derby, and an open beef show. Savings and admission deals are offered on select days, including student day with free entry for ages 18 and under when wearing an armband, a senior discount at half price for guests 60 and up, and a heroes day granting complimentary admission to teachers, military, police, nurses, and first responders. Additional promotions include a car load night bundling admission and ride bands for up to six people for 65 dollars, a midweek two-for-one admission offer, and a night with three dollar admission and three dollar rides. Parking is free, children three and under enter at no charge, and retired and active military receive free admission every day of the fair. New midway attractions join longtime favorites, offering something different to enjoy throughout the event.
Hernando County FairgroundsExpress Yourself: An Arts & Crafts Adventure sponsored by the Hernando County Fine Arts Council
This program offers opportunities to try new ways of creating art in a friendly, social environment at The Artmaking Space. Materials and snacks are included so participants can focus on their creativity. Each week features a different creative activity that encourages exploration and self-expression. Sponsored by the Hernando County Fine Arts Council.
The Artmaking SpaceLegacy of Her
Legacy of Her offers a warm, creative space where girls ages 12 to 17 can explore who they are, where they come from, and who they are becoming. In a small-group setting that meets on Mondays, participants develop their voices through art, reflection, conversation, and storytelling while learning about influential women throughout history and across cultures. Guided projects, journaling, and collaborative art invite teens to build confidence, empathy, and authentic self expression within a supportive sisterhood. Each session blends mixed media creativity, reflective prompts, meaningful dialogue, and stories of remarkable women to nurture identity, purpose, and a strong personal voice. This experience is a good fit for teens who enjoy making art and thoughtful conversation, want space to reflect on identity and confidence, and feel at home in a close-knit, encouraging group. The guiding theme is to grow, reflect, create, and dream. The focus is not perfection, it is becoming, with room to be seen, heard, and creatively free, and with sisterhood, story, and self discovery at the heart of it.
