Rotary Sets Sail 2026
Guests can enjoy a river cruise and dinner aboard the Barbara Lee Rivership while taking in scenery along the historic St. Johns River. The evening includes prizes, raffles, dancing, a silent auction, and a focus on friendship. Presented by the Rotary Club of Sanford Breakfast, proceeds support charities in Seminole County. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses that want to promote their work. Tickets are available.
St. Johns Rivership Co.SBC 20K River Race
The Sanford Bicycle Club is staging a free 20K trial race on the Riverwalk to test a potential future charity event. Participants gather at Dees Brothers Brewery and ride together to Veterans Memorial Park, which serves as the official start and finish. At the horn, the route heads west along the Riverwalk for 10 kilometers, turns around, and returns 10 kilometers to the park. After the finish, the group pedals back to Dees Brothers Brewery to celebrate. Entry is free and race bibs are provided. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers, with bragging rights included. The field is open to all skill levels, from fast riders to casual cyclists, with the option to race hard or enjoy a scenic ride along Lake Monroe.

At Sanford City Hall, this gathering offers a secular invocation to open a government meeting, providing inclusive words in a setting where invocations are often prayers. The initiative focuses on welcoming all perspectives in civic affairs by sharing nonreligious remarks when possible. After the invocation, the group will head out for dinner.
