A ceremonial ribbon cutting at RP Funding Center marks the start of the 2026 Miss Florida and Miss Florida’s Teen competitions. Taking place just before the opening preliminary round, the gathering offers hors d’oeuvres, giveaways, and a cash bar, along with opportunities to meet the 2025 winners and the 2026 candidates. Attendees may remain afterward to watch the first preliminary competition. Presented by the Miss Florida Scholarship Program, part of the Miss America Opportunity, this event spotlights a scholarship effort that awards up to $100,000 each year. Approximately 70 young women from across Florida will compete for the titles of Miss Florida 2026 and Miss Florida’s Teen 2026, with winners advancing to Miss America 2027 and Miss America’s Teen 2027. The program has called Lakeland home for the past 10 years.
