Broward Center for the Performing ArtsEcstatic Dance Miami ~ May Full Moon Immersion
A lunar-inspired immersion in free movement, connection, and restoration invites participants to shed stress and step into presence. Aligned with a Scorpio full moon, the experience centers on depth, honesty, and transformation, encouraging emotion to move through the body so tension can soften into flow and vitality. Vulnerability becomes a strength on the dance floor, and each breath supports a return to truth, aliveness, and inner power. The gathering typically opens with a community potluck and an opening circle, then moves into a deep embodiment practice that weaves elements of yoga, contact improvisation, and acro-yoga. An expansive Ecstatic Dance journey follows with music by Alejandro, founder and resident DJ of Ecstatic Dance Miami, a trained psychotherapist, bodyworker, and intimacy and tantra coach with over three decades of aquatic bodywork experience. For full immersion participants, the evening continues with Aquatic Rebirthing, an introduction to Watsu, Waterdance, and aquatic healing practices. Floating and being gently guided in warm water supports profound relaxation and integration. The saltwater pool is heated to a body-comforting temperature and is sanitized with ozone and UV light, with no additional chlorine added. The night settles into stillness with a crystal sound bath. This is an intimate, sacred container for dedicated Ecstatic Dancers and is not advertised to the wider community. It is not a pool party. There is no alcohol, no shoes on the dance floor, and minimal out-loud talking except in social areas. Poi, spin toys, and fire performance are welcome. The dress code invites magic and self-expression, with a bathing suit and towel required and a robe recommended. Capacity is limited, and the aquatic portion has a firm cap of 16 participants. Tickets are sold in advance only and are not available at the door. Options include dance-only, full immersion with aquatic work and sound healing, and a couples option. Ticket sales end on the day of the event and may be extended based on availability. The exact location is shared directly with registered participants and is not to be disclosed. Parking is limited, so carpooling or rideshare is encouraged. Refunds are available up to 24 hours before the start, with platform fees nonrefundable. Within 24 hours, exchanges for a future event may be offered if space allows. Participants are asked to care for community well-being by staying home in case of recent exposure or symptoms.
