Community CyclesGinga Quartet & Michele Castro (Colorado Brazil Fest Concert Series)
The Colorado Brazil Fest Concert Series presents a two-part concert at the Louisville Center for the Arts in Louisville, Colorado, spotlighting Colorado’s Ginga Quartet and vocalist Michele Castro from Rio de Janeiro. The first performance features the Ginga Quartet in an all-instrumental salute to Brazilian jazz, with interpretations of works by renowned Brazilian composers, including artists the musicians have known over the course of their careers. The second performance brings Ginga together with Michele Castro for MPB, samba, Brazilian rock, funk, and other beloved Brazilian genres in an intimate setting. Cultivated in Boulder and made up of standout jazz, classical, and salsa players from the Front Range, Ginga has spent more than a decade sharing the pulse and sophistication of Brazilian music. For this concert, the quartet’s lineup includes Greg LaLiberte on flute, saxophones, and percussion, Bill Kopper on guitar, Raoul Rossiter on drums and percussion, and Bill McCrossen on bass. Michele Castro is a vocalist and guitarist from Rio de Janeiro who began performing internationally with a Choro and samba group as its lead singer on two tours of Germany. Her repertoire spans samba, bossa nova, Brazilian pop and rock, MPB, choro, and forró, and she also plays a range of Brazilian percussion instruments while actively connecting with the Colorado music community.

Little Herbal ApothecaryBaby + Me Yoga 6-Week Series with Sarah Hieb
Baby + Me Yoga is a six-week postpartum series at Louisville Community Yoga with Sarah Hieb, created for mothers and caregivers to practice alongside their babies from about six weeks old until they start to crawl. The focus is on rebuilding after birth, easing the common strains of caring for a little one, and connecting with a supportive community. Sessions also include ways to bond with your baby, including gentle movement, infant massage, and songs. Each class begins with a brief moment to settle in and introductions, followed by gentle warm ups that prepare the body. The practice then moves through poses that release tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back, while helping stabilize the abdominal wall, lower back, and pelvis after pregnancy and childbirth. Classes close with guided rest. Beginners are welcome, and options are offered so everyone can participate safely and comfortably. Feeding, diaper changes, sleepy or playful moments, and babywearing are all welcome throughout class. Bringing a baby blanket, a few toys, and any comfort items can help you and your baby feel at ease. The series is $150, which averages $25 per class, and there is a $30 drop-in option. Enrollment for the series is limited to 12 participants. If you miss a class, make-ups may be taken in a future six-week session if space is available. If you have specific medical concerns, consult your healthcare provider before attending.
